[Update #2]: Elden Ring's very first expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, has just been revealed.
[Update]: It looks like the recent rumors were true after all! I say this because FromSoftware has just announced a massive new mech game - Armored Core VI!
If you're amped up from the endless stream of teasers and previews, I'm happy to say that the long wait is now finally over! FromSoftware's much-anticipated action-RPG Elden Ring has now arrived onto both PC and consoles.
Elden Ring brings with it a wide open world to explore, a whole assortment of unique weapons and armor to toy around with, and for the first time in Souls history, a storyline co-written by George R.R. Martin and heavily focused on the characters themselves. What all of this looks like in actual gameplay though, that you can find out through the freshly posted launch trailer:

[Update]: Aperture Desk Job has now been unleashed, and unsurprisingly it's a short but fun experience.
After going through a brief delay, Valve's much-anticipated Steam Deck handheld PC will start shipping on February 28th. So in order to highlight some of its features, as well as to help everyone get acquainted with the controls, Valve will be releasing the free Aperture Desk Job 'game' on March 1, 2022.
While it will be set within the Aperture Science facility from the Portal series, it's important to mention that Aperture Desk Job will not be Portal 3 or anything of the sorts. Instead, it's going to be a simple yet amusing tech demo showcasing what the Steam Deck is capable of.

While the vast majority of the Overwatch team is currently working on Overwatch 2, I'm happy to say that the original is still getting at least a bit of attention from Blizzard. As such, the freshly released Reaper's Code of Violence update has brought with it a new Reaper-themed challenge, as well as a short story offering some long-awaited lore for one of the main baddies.
The Reaper's Code of Violence challenge will remain active until March 8th, during which you'll have the opportunity to grab a bunch of nifty cosmetics by simply playing the game or watching partnered streams. These include things like sprays and player icons, as well as a rather fancy Reaper Legendary skin. Here's a brief and rather entertaining trailer showing off what they look like:

[Update #2]: Dota 2's next hero, the ghastly gunslinger Muerta, will be launching in early 2023.
[Update]: Dota 2's Update 7.31b has now landed with fixes for some of the newfound balance problems. The Spring Cleaning 2022 update has then followed with a whole bunch of quality-of-life improvements!
It took nearly a year to get here, but Dota 2's much-anticipated Update 7.31 has now finally arrived! The highlights include the addition of the Primal Beast as a new hero, a massive rework of Techies, as well as a chunky rebalance of literally every single jungle creep.
As befitting the name, the Primal Beast is a huge and highly durable initator that wants to charge directly into the enemy team in order to cause havoc. A fairly simple and easy to learn concept, but I'd be lying if I said that going around screaming and smashing things isn't fun. Speaking of which, you can find the full details behind his abilities over at the Primal Beast hero page.

[Update #2]: MTG Arena will be adding a bunch of Commander Legends cards with July 2022's Alchemy Horizons set.
[Update]: MTG Arena's 30 card Alchemy: Kamigawa mini-set has now been unleashed.
The Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty set has only just launched, and already the MTG Arena team is looking to shake up the Alchemy metagame. However, instead of tweaking some of the newer cards, the upcoming update is looking to buff some of the underperforming archetypes from previous sets!
As such, once the update arrives later today (February 24th) you can expect to see a variety of chunky buffs to zombies, foretell-focused cards like Cosmos Charger and Vega, the Watcher, as well as some of the underplayed Alchemy cards like Sinister Reflection or Tireless Angler. When it comes to Historic in specific, Fires of Invention is following Teferi's example and undergoing a slight nerf in exchange for being unbanned!

[Update #2]: Street Fighter 6 will be launching onto PC and consoles on June 2, 2023 alongside 18 characters.
[Update]: Not even a month has gone by, and Capcom has already revealed another game! This time around it's not a fighting game, however, but rather Exoprimal - a team-based action game about mechs fighting dinosaurs!
As a part of a recent teaser Capcom launched a very simple countdown website. My original guess was that this would directly lead into the reveal of a brand new game, perhaps even the long-rumored Resident Evil 4 remaster, but as it turns out I was wrong on both counts!
Instead of revealing just one game, Capcom has taken the opportunity to showcase two! The first of these is the much-anticipated Street Fighter 6, while the second is the Capcom Fighting Collection that comes with a rather interesting mix of games.

[Update #2]: Following in the same footsteps as Northgard, Shiro Games have now released Dune: Spice Wars into Steam Early Access.
[Update]: Shiro Games have finally announced a release date for Dune: Spice Wars - April 26th, 2022!
Developed by Shiro Games, the team behind the excellent Northgard, Dune: Spice Wars is an upcoming real-time strategy game with 4X elements. As you might imagine from that alone, Dune: Spice Wars is all about using subterfuge, political intrigue, economic supremacy, as well as a healthy helping of all-out warfare in order to secure as much of the precious spice for your house as possible.
If you're wondering what all of this looks like in action, wonder no more as Shiro Games have just released the very first gameplay preview. Have a peek:

[Update]: No Man's Sky's April 2022 Outlaws update is all about space combat and skirting the rule of law.
Continuing on with their seemingly endless quest to improve everything about No Man's Sky, Hello Games have now unleashed yet another chunky new update! The appropriately titled Sentinel update brings with it an overhaul of the combat system, a couple of interesting new sentinel enemies to fight against, more variety in the sentinel weaponry and combat strategy, as well as a bunch of visual improvements to make these new battles look as snazzy as possible.
Most importantly of all, the Sentinel update has also brought with it new AI companions! By reverse-engineering one of the sentinel drones you can create your very own (and very adorable) drone companion, while the trusty Minotaur exocraft can now not only be upgraded with an AI core that allows it to assist you in combat, but also with fancy new sentinel tech!

[Update]: Monark has now made its way over to PC, and as expected, it's an interesting though deeply flawed game.
After being available on Japanese consoles for a couple of months now, the turn-based RPG Monark will also be heading over to PC and the west on February 22, 2022. Once it arrives it'll bring with it a world trapped under a mysterious mist of madness, a bunch of helpful yet slightly unhinged characters, as well as a whole host of bizarre demons to beat up as you attempt to remedy the situation.
What this looks like in actual gameplay, as well as what the characters themselves are like, that you can get a peek at through two of the recent trailers. Have a gander, starting with the combat focused one:

[Update]: Elden Ring has now finally arrived, though sadly not without some technical problems on PC.
I hope you're mentally prepared to die over and over again, because FromSoftware's latest action-RPG Elden Ring is nearly upon us. Once it arrives this February 25th it'll bring with it a wide open world to explore, an assortment of unique weapons and armor to toy around with, as well as an in-depth storyline co-written by George R.R. Martin.
So if you're curious about how all of this looks like in action, as well as what makes Elden Ring stand out from its predecessors, you'll find your answers in the freshly posted Overview trailer. Have a gander, it's quite a lengthy one:
