[Update #2]: Elden Ring's very first expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, has just been revealed.

[Update]: It looks like the recent rumors were true after all! I say this because FromSoftware has just announced a massive new mech game - Armored Core VI!

If you're amped up from the endless stream of teasers and previews, I'm happy to say that the long wait is now finally over! FromSoftware's much-anticipated action-RPG Elden Ring has now arrived onto both PC and consoles.

Elden Ring brings with it a wide open world to explore, a whole assortment of unique weapons and armor to toy around with, and for the first time in Souls history, a storyline co-written by George R.R. Martin and heavily focused on the characters themselves. What all of this looks like in actual gameplay though, that you can find out through the freshly posted launch trailer:

While the gameplay is as good as you might expect given that this is FromSoftware we're talking about, there is one unfortunate problem - the PC version is currently suffering from some technical issues. These issues seem to range from straight up crashes to performance problems that can slice your framerate in half, so unless you're willing to take a risk it might be a wise idea to give the team a week or two before diving in. Bandai Namco has already stated that fixes are underway, so hopefully it won't take all that long before we can all enjoy dying over and over again!

For now, however, you can keep an eye on the status of these updates, as well as read some of the player reviews, over at Steam.
