[Update]: Following in the same footsteps as Northgard, Shiro Games have now released Dune: Spice Wars into Steam Early Access.

Dune: Spice Wars, developed by the team behind the excellent Northgard, is an upcoming real-time strategy game with some 4X elements mixed in for flavor. As you might imagine given the setting alone, Dune: Spice Wars is all about using political intrigue to crush your opponents, deploying hordes of spies to ensure they can't do the same to you, and when all else fails, handling your problems through overwhelming firepower.

If all of this looks like it's right up your alley, you'll be happy to hear that Dune: Spice Wars will be launching into Early Access on April 26th, 2022. The initial version will bring with it four playable factions with all of the main gameplay elements present and accounted for, while future updates will add things like multiplayer, a full campaign, as well as a currently mysterious new faction.
