Dota 2 Spring Cleaning 2022 update artwork

[Update #2]: Dota 2's "larger than normal" Patch 7.31d will be launching on June 8th, 2022.

[Update]: Dota 2's Patch 7.31c has toned down annoying heroes like Primal Beast and Death Prophet.

As a part of the recent and rather massive Update 7.31 Dota 2 added the Primal Beast as a new hero, reworked Techies into more of a classic support, completely changed how all of the jungle creeps act, as well as tweaked a whole bunch of heroes and items. Unfortunately, the update also brought with it some rather unwelcome guests - heaps of bugs!

So in order to sort out these fresh new problems, as well as to finally implement some quality-of-life changes the community has been asking for literal years, Valve has now unleashed the appropriately titled Spring Cleaning 2022 update. Unsurprisingly, there's a whole category dedicated to Rubick alone!

First things first, the previously useless Aghanim's Scepter and Shard tooltips have now been improved and actually tell you the numbers behind the new ability. Sticking with the same theme, Valve has also updated the shop search function with enhanced support for keywords, which should make picking items a fair bit easier for new players.

(Optional) expanded item tooltips will be a great help as well

The muting system has also become easier to use, though it's sadly now an even bigger mess than before. Instead of having to click twice in order to mute someone, you now only have to do it once... though simply pressing the mute button now automatically reports that player as well! Needless to say, this is likely going to result in an absurd amount of accidental reports.

The Spring Cleaning 2022 update has also spruced up the demo map to make testing heroes easier, as well as added colors to ability damage so it's simpler to see whether it's physical, magical, or pure. As for the rest of the changes, it's mostly a bunch of quality-of-life tweaks and bug fixes, though I do have to highlight one big change - Boots of Travel are less likely to target a creep when cast in range of a tower!

You can check out the rest of the tweaks, including Rubick's very own section, over at the Dota 2 website. Enjoy, and once the next big update arrives I'll make sure to let you know.
