[Update #2]: Following in the same footsteps as Northgard, Shiro Games have now released Dune: Spice Wars into Steam Early Access.

[Update]: Shiro Games have finally announced a release date for Dune: Spice Wars - April 26th, 2022!

Developed by Shiro Games, the team behind the excellent Northgard, Dune: Spice Wars is an upcoming real-time strategy game with 4X elements. As you might imagine from that alone, Dune: Spice Wars is all about using subterfuge, political intrigue, economic supremacy, as well as a healthy helping of all-out warfare in order to secure as much of the precious spice for your house as possible.

If you're wondering what all of this looks like in action, wonder no more as Shiro Games have just released the very first gameplay preview. Have a peek:

While no exact release date has been announced just yet, Dune: Spice Wars will be launching into Steam Early Access at some point in 2022. It will stay there for nine to twelve months, during which the developers plan to add a variety of features like multiplayer, a full singleplayer campaign, new factions, and so forth.
