Dead Island Retro Rampage is the name of the upcoming Dead Island game

The past year has not been a good one for the Dead Island franchise. First Dead Island 2 underwent heavy development troubles and then subsequently even lost its whole team and the Dead Island MOBA got canceled before it even had a chance to come out of beta.

But much like the zombies it portrays it appears that Dead Island isn't dead just yet as the Australian Classification board recently listed an entry for Dead Island Retro Revenge with an M rating for bloody violence.

Battlefield Hardline Betrayal expansion is coming in March

The Battlefield inspired cops & robbers spin-off has been met with a rather resounding meh ever since its release and with the PC market already overflowing with excellent FPS games its not rare to see Hardline fall under 1000 concurrent players, a frightfully low number for a franchise so big.

But I have a feeling that is going to change as Battlefield Hardline: Betrayal has been announced today and is bringing with it a whole bunch of new weapons, maps, vehicles and an actual bloody sword so can you at least look cool while you're getting shot! Here's what you can expect to see in Betrayal:

Fallout 4's survival mode is getting an update sometime soon

As someone who greatly enjoyed the hardcore survival mode in Fallout: New Vegas I have to say that the Fallout 4 equivalent has been less than ideal, to say it nicely.

Thankfully it seems that Bethesda agrees because they've released a short Facebook announcement recently stating that they are working on a complete overhaul of the survival mode with the focus on providing a more compelling experience. Here's the full quote:

Need for Speed 2015 is coming to the PC on March 15th

The PC versions of the Need for Speed series have not been in a good spot the past couple of years, to put things lightly. They often came with poor performance, annoying bugs and glitches but worst of all the dreaded frame cap.

There is a shred of hope for the series however as EA has announced today that Need For Speed 2015 will be coming to PC with improved graphics, no frame caps, support for all sorts of peripherals and even manual transmission. Here's the PC reveal trailer:

Rise Of The Tomb Raider PC patch brings performance updates, crash fixes and more

I have to hand it to Crystal Dynamics, they said they would support the PC version of Rise of the Tomb Raider and support it they have.

The first optimization patch released a mere week ago and already there is a second one deployed on Steam that promises performance improvements, a fix to the ALT-TAB crash bug and more. Here's the full set of patch notes:

Ubisoft has announced that there will be no new AC games in 2016

Assassin's Creed fans have been complaining about oversaturation for years now but it seems that with Unity's extremely poor reception Ubisoft has finally got the message.

In a blog post that went up today the Assassin's Creed team thanked their fans for sticking by them for all these years and announced that there will be no new Assassin's Creed game this year as they want to create a truly memorable experience with the next one. Here's the most interesting part of the announcement:

Quantum Break is coming to the PC & Windows 10, System requirements released

You know how Microsoft keeps saying every year that they will totally start taking PC gaming seriously and then do precisely nothing of the sort? Well, I think they might have actually been genuine this time around.

According to today's announcement Quantum Break will be the latest in a series of games that are going to launch simultaneously on both the PC and Xbox One. Here's the trailer, system requirements and a bit more info:

League of Legend's Dominion game mode is being removed permanently this February

What Dominion was supposed to be is a fast paced challenging game mode that's perfectly suited for people willing to just jump in to the action, smack a few guys around and then leave satisfied for the day.

Unfortunately, as many of you that tried it know, that didn't pan out and Dominion quickly turned in to an imbalanced mess. And now, four years after its inception, Dominion is being retired due to less than 0.5% of the playerbase actively playing it. Here's what Riot's L4T3NCY had to say:

Creative Destructions has released a trailer for their latest IS Defense game

Do you remember Hatred, the game that marketed itself as an extremely offensive poke at modern civilization and our sensibilities only to launch as a boring and uninspired twin-stick shooter?

Well, the developers Destructive Creation are at it again with another game designed solely to sell based on controversy. This time around its IS Defense, a game that just might be crazy and explosive enough to be fun. Here's the trailer:

American Truck Simulator now has a free demo

If someone told me a few years ago to try out a game that's all about being an honest, law-abiding trucker I would have probably burst in to laughter. Nowadays I ask which trucks are available...

You might think I'm being facetious but the Truck Simulator series has been an absolute joy to me. Its simple to grasp, engaging, yet extremely relaxing making it a great way to unwind alongside a podcast or two after having a rough day.

And if you need further convincing, American Truck Simulator has released a free demo today so if you want to experience the glorious life of a virtual trucker now's your chance. Here's the trailer as well:
