Bus Simulator 16 is coming in March, here are the system requirements

When I talked about Farming Simulator 17 recently I thought that would be the strangest and most niche game I'd cover this week but much to my surprise a strong contender has shown itself today.

The game in question is Bus Simulator 16 which not only allows you to drive your very own bus but also run an entire public transport company in both single player and multiplayer. Here's the trailer, system requirements and a bit more information:

Valve has released a SteamVR performance test

If the recent announcement of the $799 HTC Vita price tag got you thinking about what sort of monstrosity you would need to even run VR games Valve has you covered with their fancy new VR compatibility test.

The portal themed SteamVR Performance Test will attempt to measure your system's power by rendering a demanding two-minute long sequence from the Aperture Robot Repair VR demo.

Euro 2016 DLC for PES will only have 15 licensed teams

According to a recent announcement that went up on Konami's website the free EURO 2016 DLC for PES will have only have 15 out of the 24 licensed teams. You would think that the whole point of paying for insanely expensive licences would be to avoid situations like this, but unfortunately that does not seem to be the case.

The teams you will be able to play with once Euro 2016 launches in March are: England, Wales, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, Iceland, Turkey, Albania, Northern Ireland and hosts France.

Farming Simulator 17 is coming at the end of 2016

If you had told me a couple of years ago that there would be wide-spread excitement about a farming simulator being announced, and I don't mean an MMORPG, I would have considered you insane and yet, here we are.

Farming Simulator 17, the latest iteration of the incredibly popular franchise, will be coming to the PC and consoles later this year. This information comes from a short quote Cédric Lagarrigue, president of Focus Home Interactive, gave when talking about the upcoming Paris press event:

The Unseen History of Portal goes in-depth in to the development of Portal

As someone that got in to programming many years ago, primarily because video game design interests me so much, I'm always glad when a detailed look at the development process of a big game gets released online.

This time around its a video from Valve News Network (unrelated to Valve themselves) that digs deep in to the history of Portal and its development issues, triumphs and design challenges. Here's the video and if you're even remotely interested in how games are made I'd recommend you give it a look:

The Ship: Remasted is now available on Steam Early Access

The nautical murder simulator The Ship: Remasted was supposed to arrive last week but was instead delayed in order to add online multiplayer capability, a rather important factor to multiplayer games these days, I think you would agree.

After only five and a half days since that delay, The Ship: Remasted developers have announced that online multiplayer capability is now available and that The Ship has sailed in to Early Access. Here's the teaser trailer and a bit more information on the game itself:

Killer Instinct Season 3 is bringing improved graphics, three new maps and Arbiter as a character

As a part of their efforts to port Killer Instinct to Windows 10 the developers have managed to not only improve the graphics but also completely rework the lighting engine so that the stages look far, far superior than their previous iterations.

All of this information comes from an interview Ultra-Combo did with Killer Instinct's art director, Chad Green. If you're interested in a developer's perspective on Killer Instinct I'd recommend you give it a read because I will only highlight a few choice quotes:

AMD's promotion is offering free games to certain AMD GPU and CPU owners

If you thought this week couldn't be filled with even more free game offers then I'm happy to tell you that you're quite wrong as AMD has recently announced their own promotion.

Owners of certain AMD GPUs and CPUs are eligible to chose a free game out of the thirteen available ones though you will need to run the verification tool before hand. Here's the list of games and how exactly you can grab them:

HTC Vive will cost $799 on launch

If you're like me and you held off from preordering the Oculus Rift due to the rather spicy $599 price tag then I'm afraid I have some bad news in regards to the Vive.

According to a recent article by UploadVR (which has subsequently been confirmed by other sources) the HTC Vive will set you back $799 and will arrive sometime in early April.

Element Tower Defense is now live in Dota 2

Before I even realized Dota was a thing I spent countless hours in Warcraft 3 playing four maps: The Life of a Peasant, Uther Party, Castle Fight and the gloriously addicting Element TD.

So you can imagine how overjoyed I was today when I saw that Element Tower Defense was ported over to Dota 2. A few things are missing, such as support for 8 players, but overall its the very same Element TD I binged on back in my teenage years.
