XCOM 2 mod removes the silly delays between actions

The single biggest issue XCOM 2 has is the overwhelming amount of short but very aggravating delays that leave the camera staring in to nothing while the game slowly composes itself and finally continues on with the action.

Initially I thought this was due to my hardware imitating Homer Simpson and simply flopping on the ground in exertion but as it turns out almost all of it can be removed through the use of the amazing "Stop Wasting My Time" mod. Here's the list of issues the mod can address:

The Ship: Remasted has been delayed for a week in order to introduce online multiplayer

I mentioned recently that the multiplayer murder-mystery The Ship: Remasted would be entering Early Access on February 15th but unfortunately it seems that the launch will be delayed for a week. The reason for the delay is the large amount of negative feedback over the fact that The Ship: Remasted was set to initially release with only LAN multiplayer support.

After seeing so many community members express their dislike towards this the developers have opted to delay the launch for a whole week in order to ensure that at least basic online functionality is present. Here's the announcement message:

Hitman GO is coming to Steam on February 23rd

Hitman GO is a bit of a strange take on the Hitman franchise. Rather than having huge open-ended levels and real-time action Hitman GO focuses on a large amounts of short but difficult turn-based challenges.

It initially released on mobile platforms and the Windows 10 store to some great reviews and is now making its way to Steam, PS4 and Vita on February 23rd at a €7,99/$7,99 price tag. Here's the announcement trailer showcasing some of the gameplay:

DayZ renderer brings new and improved rain effects and performance improvements

I don't think its much of a secret at this point that DayZ's development has been a bit of a letdown, to put things lightly. Even after years in Early Access the standalone version is more or less on par with the mod and nowhere near the lofty promises it made when it first launched.

There is a however a ray of sunshine in all of this as the DayZ team has recently showcased their work on a new Direct X 11 renderer that brings with it great performance improvements but most noticeably an upgraded weather system. Here's the video and if you don't feel like watching all of it I'd suggest skipping to around 5 minutes in order to see it all in action:

The Walking Dead: Michonne is a brand new mini series coming February 23rd

Rather than continue on with Clementine's story The Walking Dead: Michonne mini series will serve as a bridge between Robert Kirkman's comic universe and that of Telltale's The Walking Dead.

As you might guess from the title the story will follow the bad-ass but mentally unstable Michonne during her untold journey between comic issues #126 and #139 where she left and subsequently rejoined her friends. Here's the gameplay video:

Street Fighter V is releasing February 16th, Linux version in spring

I have to hand it to Capcom, they've been treating their PC ports extremely well the past year or so and from everything they've announced and showcased Street Fighter V looks like it will continue that legacy. Ironically, their main competitors WB & NetherRealm decided that Mortal Kombat X doesn't need a netcode update on the PC or any of the other features that will be coming to the consoles and have subsequently ceased all PC development on the title.

Their loss as Street Fighter V is set to launch tomorrow, February 16th, for the PC & PS4 alongside quite the buzz from the fighting game community. Here's the trailer and information on the Linux version:

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is Capcom's quickest selling PC game

[Update]: It took a decade, but Dragon's Dogma 2 is now finally in development!

As I've mentioned before Dragon's Dogma has been one of those games that I always wanted to play but never could because I didn't own a console. So imagine my surprise when Capcom just came out one day and said they were not just porting Dragon's Dogma over to the PC but also ensuring its going to be a high quality port.

They weren't joking because as I've found out the PC version of Dragon's Dogma is amazing so I'm very glad to hear that according to an interview with MCVUK Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is Capcom's fastest selling PC game to date. Here's the full quote:

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend is coming to Steam this March

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend, besides being nigh impossible to pronounce, is a hybrid between a visual novel and a 2D fighting game with plenty of flashy moves to pull off and ridiculous cutscenes to watch.

It released a couple of months ago on the Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 to some good some reviews and is now coming to Steam on March 2nd. Here's the rather jumpy trailer and information on what exactly you can expect from the PC version:

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada has released two trailers showcasing the Chaos & Imperial factions

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada is an RTS adaptation of the now unfortunately discontinued Games Workshop tabletop game of the same name. It features four distinct factions (Imperium, Chaos, Eldar and Orks) each with their own unique fleets and playstyles as well as plenty of ships and abilities to wage war with, Warhammer 40k style.

With the March release date slowly approaching the developers have finally started putting out trailers showcasing the abilities, maneuvers and the fancy ships each race can employ in the battle for the Gothic sector. As of right now there are only trailers for the Chaos and Imperium factions but they are well worth checking out if you're a Warhammer fan, or plan to become one:

Dead Island Retro Rampage is the name of the upcoming Dead Island game

The past year has not been a good one for the Dead Island franchise. First Dead Island 2 underwent heavy development troubles and then subsequently even lost its whole team and the Dead Island MOBA got canceled before it even had a chance to come out of beta.

But much like the zombies it portrays it appears that Dead Island isn't dead just yet as the Australian Classification board recently listed an entry for Dead Island Retro Revenge with an M rating for bloody violence.
