If you're looking for a challenging ARPG to really sink your teeth into, and you've already blazed through all of the Souls games time and time again, you might want to give Nioh a closer look. While the Dark Souls comparison is apt given its combat style, Nioh also has plenty of elements from games like Diablo and Ninja Gaiden, which makes the whole thing a bit of a mess, but thankfully quite an engaging one!
Since words alone aren't exactly ideal for describing these types of action-RPGs, allow me to share with you one of the gameplay previews. It should quickly let you know just what Nioh is all about. Have a gander:

[Update]: MTG Arena's viking themed expansion Kaldheim is launching on January 28, 2021.
If you're tired of either being slowly milled out or quickly rushed down in Standard matches, today would be a pretty good day to give MTG Arena's Historic mode a try. I say this because Kadalesh Remastered, a mega set combining cards from Kaladesh and Aether Revolt, has now made its grand entrance.
It brings with it plenty of artifacts and support for some unique deck archetypes, as well as some high-powered control tools like the Torrential Gearhulk that are sure to leave Blue players cackling with glee. As for some of the overpowered and already banned cards like Felidar Guardian and Walking Ballista, those have thankfully not made a reappearance!

With lightning-fast combos and plenty of split-second decisions to make, pretty much every single fighting game relies on quality netcode in order to keep the online experience both fun and fair. As such, I am extremely happy to say that Tekken 7's Season 4 update has now greatly improved the netcode!
While the announcement doesn't list out any technical details, the important thing to know is that the new system uses rollback netcode which has been proven as a concept time and time again. So even though this won't eliminate all lag or problems with online play, it should make everything under 100 ping feel nice and smooth.

[Update]: Deathloop has now arrived and, outside of some early performance problems, it seems to be getting a pretty positive reception.
Deathloop was originally supposed to arrive for PC and PlayStation 5 at some point during the 2020 holiday season, but like many other games, it ended up being delayed due to the pandemic. With that in mind, I have both good and bad news to deliver.
The good news is that thanks to the PlayStation store we now know when Deathloop will be released, while the bad news is that we'll have to wait for quite a while in order to get there. In other words, Deathloop will be launching half a year from now, on May 21, 2021!

[Update]: Minecraft Dungeons has now added cross-platform multiplayer, with saves coming soon.
When the Diablo inspired Minecraft Dungeons launched for PC and consoles back in May, Mojang immediately announced that they are working on cross-play support. Quite a few months have gone by since then, but I'm happy to say I bring good news from that front!
According to the recent and rather brief announcement, cross-platform play will arrive this November 17th for all versions: PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. And as you might expect, this means you'll be able to join forces and play together regardless of what platform you're on.

[Update]: Yakuza studio's action-adventure Judgment and its sequel have now suddenly landed onto PC.
I hope you're up for something a bit out of the ordinary, because the freshly released Yakuza: Like a Dragon has decided to really mix things up. Instead of sticking with the brawler/action-based combat system like its predecessors, Yakuza: Like a Dragon has opted to go with turn-based combat most similar to JRPGs.
While that might sound like pure lunacy, in practice it actually works pretty darn well! As such, even though it's drastically different from the rest of the series in terms of raw gameplay, Yakuza: Like a Dragon is still a proper Yakuza game, and a highly entertaining one at that. So if you're a fan of the series and don't mind the new direction, it's well worth looking into.

Due to a whole bunch of legal nonsense that's not worth even getting into, Friday the 13th: The Game ended up having to stop all of its content updates. And with the continued rise of competitors like Dead By Daylight, this quickly resulted in Friday the 13th losing most of its playerbase.
With all of that in mind, it should sadly come as no surprise to hear that Friday the 13th's very final update has now arrived. It brings with it a couple of balance changes and bug fixes, and most importantly of all, the discontinuation of dedicated servers in favor of purely peer to peer multiplayer.

After the unbelievably awful 2005 movie, the BloodRayne series slowly faded away into obscurity. Quite a few years have gone by since then, which is why I'm both shocked and pleased to announce that BloodRayne 1 and 2 are soon getting HD remasters!
BloodRayne 1 and 2's Terminal Cut edition will be launching this November 20th for PC, and will bring support for 4K resolutions along with improved rendering with up to 4x anti-aliasing. You can also expect to see support for modern gamepads, upscaled cinematic videos, improvements to the lighting engine, uncompressed original textures, as well as a variety of graphical tweaks to reflections, water, fog and shadows.

[Update #2]: Apex Legends' festive Holo-Day Bash event is launching this December 1st alongside the Winter Express mode.
[Update]: Apex Legends has fixed the horribly grindy Weekly Challenges and given everyone 10 free Levels.
Despite the massive Season 7 update that brought in a new map, legend and a ton of changes to all aspects of gameplay, most of the conversation within the Apex Legends community is currently focused on the Battle Pass and how much it sucks. And rightly so given that the Battle Pass has taken the "triple everything" approach with its new redesign and has thus become unbelievably grindy.
If you're wondering just how grindy we're talking about, then the best example is the daily quest that requires you to survive for 75 minutes, which doesn't include queue times, loading times, or any time spent dead. So if you're an average player and not simply hiding in a corner the whole game, this daily quest alone can take you upwards of two hours, which is just ridiculous!
