[Update]: Apex Legends' latest animated short dives into Pathfinder's backstory.

The holiday season is now well and truly upon us, which means that much like last year, Apex Legends' festive Holo-Day Bash event is just about ready to launch! Once it arrives later today (December 1st) it'll bring with it an assortment of sales on both new and old cosmetics, the return of Winter Express game mode, as well as a new reward track with its very own freebie skins to grab.

Since the numerous cosmetics are very likely going to be the highlight of the event for many of you, allow me to start by sharing the recent trailer that showcases off all of them in action. Have a gander:

When it comes to the Winter Express game mode, you'll be happy to hear that it has undergone some major improvements since last year. That said, the core concept will remain the same. It'll still be a game mode where three squads battle for control of the very Christmassy train as it makes its way around the World's Edge map - perfect for those of you that love a bit of festive chaos.

In terms of improvements, however, the most important thing to know about Winter Express 2020 is that the respawn times will be significantly shorter than last year. Not only will you be spawning on supply ships that are much closer to the action, but thanks to the newly added Derailment control point, there won't be long stretches of nothingness between some of the locations. While the Winter Express mode is still likely to get tiresome after a while given its linear nature, these little tweaks should at least make it a pretty good place to practice your dueling skills in high-stakes situation.

The Holo-Day Bash 2020 event and its accompanying reward track will be sticking around until January 4th, which should give you plenty of time to unlock all of the goodies and grab whichever skins you fancy.
