With lightning-fast combos and plenty of split-second decisions to make, pretty much every single fighting game relies on quality netcode in order to keep the online experience both fun and fair. As such, I am extremely happy to say that Tekken 7's Season 4 update has now greatly improved the netcode!

While the announcement doesn't list out any technical details, the important thing to know is that the new system uses rollback netcode which has been proven as a concept time and time again. So even though this won't eliminate all lag or problems with online play, it should make everything under 100 ping feel nice and smooth.

Besides the improved netcode, Tekken 7 has also added a couple of nice quality of life features, as well as the Season Pass 4. The new season pass features the Vermilion Gates as a lovely new stage, the highly nimble Kunimitsu as a brand new character, as well as a couple of Pac-Man themed cosmetics. As for the future, the Season Pass 4 will also be adding another playable character and stage, though both of those are currently shrouded in mystery.

If you're curious how all of this translates into actual gameplay, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. Have a gander, Kunimitsu really does seem like a bunch of fun:
