[Update]: Monster Hunter Rise's Sunbreak expansion has now landed onto PC alongside some technical troubles.

If you've combed over every single inch of the excellent Monster Hunter Rise and you're now itching for more, I'm happy to say that the Sunbreak expansion is fairly close! You can expect to see it land onto PC (via Steam) and Switch this June 30th, 2022!

The good news doesn't end there, however, as Capcom has also taken this opportunity to highlight some of the new monsters we'll be endlessly tormenting for loot. Here's the brief trailer starring Garangolm, Lunagaron and Malzeno:

[Update]: Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn's September preview shows off a fun mixture of Souls-like enemies, axes and gunpowder.

A bit over three years have gone by since Ashen first arrived, but Studio A44 has now finally returned with a brand new take on Souls-like action. The freshly announced Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is once again an open-world action-RPG with a heavy focus on combat, though instead of settling for a fairly generic medieval setting, Flintlock is all about guns, magical canine companions and a whole bunch of undead monstrosities.

No actual gameplay has been revealed just yet, but you can get a pretty good idea of the sort of style and atmosphere Flintlock is going for thorough the announcement trailer below. Have a gander:

If you've got a fair bit of free time and are itching for a sizable game to sink your teeth into, you might be interested to hear that Steam has just launched a rather chunky JRPG Sale. There's a whole bunch of different games across different series currently on offer, so you should be able to find something that suits you fairly easily.

As always, the sale won't really last all that long, so you might want to dive in sooner rather than later. In this case, you can expect to see the JRPG Sale to stick around only until March 21st, 2022.

[Update #2]: Total War: Warhammer 3's long awaited Immortal Empires campaign is most likely coming in September!

[Update]: Creative Assembly has now revealed their plans for the massive Update 1.1 and what comes after.

In an effort to fix up some of Total War: Warhammer 3's technical troubles, as well as to keep the community in the loop, Creative Assembly recently laid out their plans for the upcoming updates. Since the really big changes still need a bit more time in the oven, the humble Patch 1.0.2 has now been unleashed in order to fix up some of the more annoying problems and to help pave the way for what is to come.

The patch notes are fairly small, so here's a brief rundown of everything that has been changed, with the most important stuff being near the top:

  • Warhammer
  • Total War: Warhammer 3

[Update]: Syberia: The World Before has now arrived, and outside of the puzzle being fairly easy, so far it seems like a solid new game in the series.

While the original creator of the series Benoît Sokal has sadly passed away last year, I'm happy to say that his legacy lives on as the fourth Syberia game he worked on is now nearly ready to launch. And when I say nearly, I really do mean that as Syberia: The World Before has just been pinned for a March 18th, 2022 release date!

Much like the rest of the series, Syberia: The World Before will be a point & click adventure heavily focused around storytelling and puzzle solving. The big twist this time around, however, is that you will be playing as two characters in two different time periods, which should offer a rather interesting perspective on the world.

[Update]: The Gold Box RPGs have now arrived, and it's looking like they do come with the manuals!

While they were well before my time, the Gold Box series of PC games represents a whole bunch of classic Dungeons & Dragons based RPGs. So if you're feeling a tinge of nostalgia for times gone by, or if you're just curious what made these games so popular back in the day, you might be intrigued to hear that the Gold Box RPGs will be making their way to Steam this March 29th, 2022.

However, instead of everything being crammed into one gigantic collection, the Gold Box games have been separated by series and are now a part of eight separate 'collections'. Here's a brief rundown of what these bundles are and what they contain:

  • RPG
  • Dungeons & Dragons
