[Update #2]: We finally have a date! The Dead Space remake will be launching onto PC and consoles on January 27th, 2023!
[Update]: Motive Studio are now also working on an Iron Man single-player action-adventure.
Almost a year has gone by since the big Dead Space remake was announced, and I'm afraid another year will go by before we can actually get our hands on it. According to the freshly posted developer update, the Dead Space remake will be heading to PC, PlayStation and Xbox in early 2023.
I can't tell you much about the actual improvements as pretty much no details have been revealed just yet, but what I can say is that the upcoming Dead Space will be a full remake of the original with a focus on offering a deeper and more immersive experience. So while the Dead Space remake will follow the same story and rough structure as the original, expect to see some diversions like in the excellent Resident Evil 2 remake.
Co-op focused beat'em up RPG Young Souls has now landed onto PC and consoles
- By Ash
- in Indie Games
The freshly released Young Souls is a rather charming hybrid between an action-RPG and a beat'em up. What this means in gameplay terms is that you will spend a fair bit of time crunching through hordes upon hordes of goblins in side-scrolling levels, picking up or buying all sorts of items and accessories to help customize your playstyle, as well as beefing up your stats or simply having a chat in between levels.
What this looks like in actual gameplay, however, that you can check out through one of the recent trailers. Have a gander, it's a rather informative one:
Vermintide 2 devs have revealed the 4th anniversary quality of life improvements and Elf changes

[Update]: The quality-of-life focused anniversary update has now arrived, and so far it's looking quite impressive!
Vermintide 2 is currently celebrating its fourth anniversary, and in order to make it a special one Fatshark is currently working on a giant, quality-of-life focused update. Many of these additions have been influenced by popular mods, and as you might imagine, offer some optional but highly useful features.
Once the update arrives this March 15th you can expect to see an option that lessens or removes camera movement while attacking, a more detailed UI that lets you see the exact numbers behind various things like health and ammunition, as well as the ability to tweak the hit marker so it flashes differently depending on if you've hit an enemy, an ally or even just confirmed a kill. There's also going to be an easy way to adjust a character's inventory without directly swapping to them, better bot behaviour, extra tooltips for special attacks like Saltzpyre's rapier shot, and the list goes on for a while.

[Update #2]: Overwatch 2's PvP Closed Beta has now been pinned for April 26th, 2022.
[Update]: Blizzard has now revealed the minimum and recommended PC specs for the Overwatch 2 Beta.
After what feels like an eternity of waiting, Blizzard is now finally getting ready to show off Overwatch 2... or at the very least the PvP part of it! So if you're as eager as I am to learn what Overwatch 2's competitive mode has to offer, you'll be happy to hear that the very first PvP Closed Beta will be going live at some point in late April.
In terms of content, the PvP beta will bring with it a couple of hero reworks and cosmetic redesigns, the new 5v5 game mode with significantly stronger tanks, as well as the railgun wielding Sojourn as a new hero. There will also be four new maps to explore, the first appearance of the Push game mode, and even an Apex Legends inspired ping system to help with in-game communications.
Stylish action-roguelike Have a Nice Death has now landed into Steam Early Access
- By Ash
- in Indie Games
Staying true to its name, the freshly released Have a Nice Death is an action-roguelike that's all about hacking and slashing your way through hordes of enemies as a very disgruntled Grim Reaper. Along the way you'll also get a chance to smack down an assortment of bosses that also happen to be previous employees, unlock new items and spells to make the reaping go by easier, and if you are so inclined, adopt a couple of curses to brighten up the day for your scores of subordinates back in the Death Incorporated offices.
What all of this madness looks like in action, that you can get a pretty good idea through the recently posted and rather charming trailer. Have a gander, it's well worth checking out:

[Update]: Gotham Knights' newest Nightwing & Red Hood preview is sadly looking quite janky.
Nearly a full year has gone by since the last big delay, but I'm happy to say that Warner Bros. has now finally revealed the (hopefully final) release date for the open-world Batman spin-off Gotham Knights. So if you're in the mood for messing around with Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin, make sure to mark October 25th, 2022 on your calendar!
As for what exactly you can expect to see in terms of gameplay, that you can find out through two of the trailers below. They're a tiny bit outdated by this point, but they should still clue you in quite nicely. Have a gander, starting with the cinematic and ending with the more gameplay focused preview:

[Update #2]: Thanks to a massive outcry, F1 Manager 2022 will not be getting abandoned after a mere two months.
[Update]: F1 Manager 2022 has now arrived, and while the base game is solid, it's going to need a bit more polish before it can be considered truly great.
Considering the absolutely gigantic popularity of Football Manager and similar simulator games, it should come as little surprise to hear that Formula 1 has decided to throw their hat into the ring as well. As such they have teamed up with Frontier Developments, the studio behind Planet Coaster and Jurassic World Evolution, to work on the supposedly highly realistic F1 Manager 2022.
As the name would imply, F1 Manager 2022 will give you full control over your team, their finances, and even the type of cars designs they'll use. From there you'll need to figure out which areas to focus your attention and budget on, pick and choose the best personnel you can, and naturally, micromanage each and every race in order to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible, even if the changing weather or track conditions result in some last-minute adjustments.
