[Update #2]: In celebration of the series' seventh anniversary, Fatshark is both giving away Vermintide 2 and unleashing a brand new map for us to explore!

[Update]: Vermintide 2's June 14th, 2022 update will add Be'lakor's presence to the rogue-like Chaos Wastes.

As a part of its fourth anniversary celebration, Vermintide 2 has now released a gigantic update! The rather plainly named Patch 4.6 brings with it a whole host of quality-of-life improvements based on popular mods, a bunch of bug fixes and balance changes, as well as reworks to Kerillian's Shade and Sister of the Thorn careers to round everything out.

Instead of the previous incarnation that was all about going into stealth and stabbing enemies directly in their face, the newly reworked Shade is more of an assassin that's all about evasion and striking from behind. On the other hand, the Sister of the Thorn has lost some of its impressive damage output in exchange for powerful debuffs and greater control over the flow of combat. Needless to say, any tweaks that makes the careers more distinct and interesting is a positive one!

While the list of balance changes and quality-of-life improvements is far too large to summarize, there is one change in particular that I would like to highlight - "Weak staggers no longer override strong staggers". In other words enemies will no longer randomly and suddenly jolt upwards when you push them, which should eliminate what I believe is the last bit of 'unfairness' in Vermintide 2's combat!

This is obviously just the tip of the iceberg, so if you're interested in the full list of changes you can find those over at the Vermintide 2 website. Do be warned though, there's quite a few to go through!

Have fun with the new patch, and I'll leave you with one of the tabletop inspired anniversary trailers:
