[Update #2]: Immortal Empires will be coming in August with 86 playable factions and a bunch of awesome improvements!

[Update]: Here's a little bit of good news to help tide you over - Total War: Warhammer 3 has made its way to macOS!

If you're eagerly waiting for Creative Assembly to fix up Total War: Warhammer 3 and transform it into a sequel that will eclipse all other games in the series, I have some good and bad news to deliver. Starting with the good, I'm happy to say that after many delays, the Total War: Warhammer 3 team has now finally unveiled the roadmap for 2022!

The bad news is that we're going to have to wait for quite a while, most likely until September 2022, in order to get to the really juicy stuff like the long-awaited Immortal Empires combined campaign map. However, once that update does finally arrive things should be quite exciting as it'll also bring with it an overhaul of the Warriors of Chaos, the bizarrely absent Blood Pack, as well as the first Lord Pack DLC.

The wait hopefully won't be all that bad as there will also be two major patches between now and then. The upcoming Update 1.2 will bring with it the first batch of Regiments of Renown alongside a whole bunch of improvements, while the still mysterious Update 1.3 will improve Tzeentch and Slaanesh replenishment rates alongside adding the second batch of Regiments of Renown for everyone to toy around with.

While the roadmap and its contents might come as somewhat of a disappointment given that many of these changes should've been present at launch, I do have one more bit of good news that might just cheer you up. According to the accompanying blog post, Richard Aldridge and the excellent Total War: Warhammer 2 DLC team are currently at the helm of Total War: Warhammer 3's post-launch development. So while progress will be fairly slow as there's still a lot of issues to work through, the future of the series is thankfully in very good hands!

As for the time being, I would highly recommend you take this opportunity to give Total War: Warhammer 2 a try. Not only is it currently the most polished and content-rich game in the series, but all of that content will eventually be rolled over into the Immortal Empires campaign map so getting into it now is not a waste of time or money.
