Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice screenshot of a snake attacking our character on a bridge

It has been known for around a year now that FromSoftware, the studio behind Dark Souls and Bloodborne, is working on a brand new game, though no actual details have been known until now. As you can probably guess from the title, I am extremely happy to announce that their next game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, will be a Bloodborne inspired action-RPG with a focus on 'challenging but fair' difficulty and extensive customization.

Since there is no better way to showcase this type of game than through actual gameplay, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. Despite being early in development it already looks pretty darn awesome, so I'd definitely recommend you give it a look:

[Update #2]: CDPR has now released a cinematic trailer highlighting what happens when a job goes really bad.

[Update]: Cyberpunk 2077 now has an extremely lengthy gameplay preview!

Cyberpunk 2077 has been on a lot of people's minds ever since the original and quite amazing trailer. Very little information has arrived since then, something that has unfortunately continued to this very day, but you'll be glad to hear that CDPR has now finally released an in-engine trailer, and that it looks downright stellar!

You'll find the video right below, but don't get too excited about the visuals as they are likely to be less impressive when it comes to actual gameplay. That said, The Witcher 3 is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played, so I highly doubt it's going to be much of a downgrade. With that little bit of warning out of the way, here's the new trailer:

Dead or Alive 6 close up screenshot of a character's face

After a rather lengthy hiatus, the Dead or Alive fighting game series will be returning in early 2018. The exact release date hasn't been announced just yet, but you can expect Dead or Alive 6 to release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

If you're interested in what exactly Dead or Alive 6 brings to the table in terms of visuals and gameplay, allow me to share with you two of the recently posted trailer. The first one is the announcement video, while second one is fairly lengthy developer preview, courtesy of IGN Live. Have a look:

E3 2018 is now well and truly underway, which means that gameplay trailers, reveals, and massive announcements are flying out at an incredible rate. There is so much of it going around that it's fairly difficult to keep track of, which is why I've created this list to give you a good look at the most interesting news and announcements from this year's E3.

Before we begin, it is worth mentioning that I've primarily focused on PC and multi-platform games, so no console exclusives or mobile games. Similarly, I have absolutely no knowledge of sports games or what people might find interesting about them, so I've avoided those as well. Everything else is fair game, however, so if something catches your fancy just follow the links to learn more.

With that little disclaimer now out of the way, here's all of the interesting news, reveals, announcements and trailers that came out of the first day of E3 2018:

Star Wars Battlefront 2 official artwork for General Grevious on a black background

[Update]: After two years of patches, development on Battlefront 2 is now coming to an end.

To say that Star Wars Battlefront 2 launched with problems would be one heck of an understatement, but to DICE's credit they have slowly but surely turned the starship around. The ridiculous microtransactions have been removed, the post-launch updates have added some interesting new content and cosmetics, and in the relatively near future we'll also be getting a massive Clone Wars themed update.

The update will include an improved squad system that allows you to easily group up with friends and other players, a Starfire game mode that will be all about dogfights in iconic hero ships, as well as a new large-scale sandbox mode that will put the focus on capturing points and destroying giant enemy ships. Naturally, there will also be four new and rather thematic heroes to toy around with: General Grievous, Obi-wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and the always mopey Count Dooku.

Code Vein screenshot of a battle against a fatty enemy

Code Vein is set to arrive this September 28th for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, bringing with it some Dark Souls inspired combat and what appears to be an overly cheesy storyline. What I mean with the Dark Souls comparison is that Code Vein heavily relies on careful timing, dodging and blocking, as well as punishing enemies whenever they make a mistake.

Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you a couple of the recently posted trailers. Each one is only around 30 seconds long, but they should give you a decent (albeit overly flashy) idea of what to expect from the actual combat. Have a look:

Command and Conquer: Rivals official artwork and logo

I hope you're ready for an emotional rollercoaster, because that's exactly what the newly announced Command and Conquer: Rivals is going to take you on. First of all, you'll be glad to hear that EA is not only acknowledging Command and Conquer's existence, but that they're also willing to show it off at E3 for all to see! Secondly, and way more importantly, Rivals is going to be a mobile-only game with a seemingly heavy focus on microtransactions.

But rather than taint your opinion with my blabbering, allow me to share the recently posted "Gameplay Overview" trailer. It'll give you a pretty darn good idea of what Command and Conquer: Rivals is, as well as what it is not. Have a look:

Anthem screenshot of multiple characters with jetpacks

[Update]: Anthem's Director Jon Warner has now also done a very brief gameplay demo.

Anthem is Bioware's upcoming co-op focused action-RPG that's all about mowing down hordes of enemies, flying around with a jetpack, and as is tradition for the genre, collecting more loot than even Iron Man could possibly carry. In order to accomplish this you'll be able to utilize a variety of unique weapons and abilities, as well as different styles of mech suits, all designed to complement each other and promote the whole co-op angle. It's a simple yet highly effective formula, provided Anthem manages to pull it off anyway.

As for whether it's actually going to do so, that is a difficult question to answer as Bioware's big E3 presentation has not offered much in terms of gameplay details. What Bioware did reveal, however, is more information about the world, the multiplayer, the classes themselves, as well as the end-game. You'll find the developer presentation, as well as the recently posted cinematic trailer, right below. Have a gander:

Total War: Three Kingdoms official artwork showing an army in action

The recent few Total War games have been the complete opposites. On one hand you have the outlandish and fantasy-orientated Total War: Warhammer 1 and 2, while on the other hand you have the much more grounded and realistic Rome 2 and Thrones of Britannia. Deciding which direction to take the series in from here is not exactly an easy task given the scores of fans on both sides, which is why I'm very glad to say that Creative Assembly has decided to go with the middle ground and combine both the fantastic and historic into Total War: Three Kingdoms.

If you're wondering what exactly that might look like in gameplay terms, wonder no more as Creative Assembly has just released a decently lengthy gameplay preview. All of the footage is from the pre-alpha build so it's not entirely polished, but it should give you a pretty darn good idea of what to expect from the Three Kingdoms regardless. Have a look:

Hearthstone screenshot of Toki the Time Tinkerer

Unlike the early years, Blizzard has now taken a much more hands-on approach to Arena balance and gameplay quality. Not only have they added a couple of new and Arena exclusive cards into the mix, but they have also frequently reshuffled the balance of power between the classes, slowly but surely pushing Arena into a more interesting direction.

If you feel like that isn't enough, or if you're just looking for something a bit crazier to occupy your time, you might be glad to hear that Hearthstone will soon be getting the Taverns of Time special event. The event will last from June 11 to July 2, and bring with it 28 new and rather intriguing cards to toy around with. As you might expect, some are going to be neutral, while others are going to be class-restricted.
