E3 2018 is now well and truly underway, which means that gameplay trailers, reveals, and massive announcements are flying out at an incredible rate. There is so much of it going around that it's fairly difficult to keep track of, which is why I've created this list to give you a good look at the most interesting news and announcements from this year's E3.

Before we begin, it is worth mentioning that I've primarily focused on PC and multi-platform games, so no console exclusives or mobile games. Similarly, I have absolutely no knowledge of sports games or what people might find interesting about them, so I've avoided those as well. Everything else is fair game, however, so if something catches your fancy just follow the links to learn more.

With that little disclaimer now out of the way, here's all of the interesting news, reveals, announcements and trailers that came out of the first day of E3 2018:

Day 1 - EA Conference

Titanfall devs are working on a brand new Star Wars action adventure game - Jedi: Fallen Order

The details are still few and far between, but Titanfall developer Respawn is working on a brand new singleplayer, story-focused Star Wars game. According to the brief description on the official website, Jedi: Fallen Order will be set shortly after the events of Star Wars: Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith and will focus around one of the surviving Padawn.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be getting a massive Clone Wars themed update

The update will include four new Clone Wars themed heroes, Genosis as the largest map Battlefront has ever seen, Starfire as a new dogfighting game mode focused around iconic hero ships, as well as a new sandbox mode that's all about capturing objectives and shooting down enemy capital ships. The exact release date hasn't been announced, but the update is expected to arrive "in the coming months".

Battlefield 5 will have a battle royale game mode with a focus on heavy destruction and vehicles

Unsurprisingly, Battlefield 5 will be getting its very own and seemingly unique battle royale game mode. According to the brief announcement message, the battle royale mode will be centered around three gameplay pillars: destruction, team play and vehicles. Very few details have been given, but it certainly sounds like it could be a whole lot of fun.

Bioware has released the cinematic trailer for Anthem alongside a lengthy developer presentation

Bioware has shared very little gameplay footage or information about Anthem, but they did at least talk about its world, the multiplayer, the character classes, as well as the end-game. It's still difficult to figure out how Anthem will pan out in the end, but at least the new cinematic trailer is rather lovely to look at.

EA has announced a brand new Command and Conquer game, though unfortunately only for mobile

EA has actually announced a new Command and Conquer game! Unfortunately, it's a seemingly grindy mobile game with its focus squarely set on esports. Can't say I'm too excited about the idea given the gameplay footage shown so far, but maybe it'll end up spawning a 'proper' C&C game in the future.

Day 1 - Indie Games

Unravel 2 has been officially revealed and then immediately released for both PC and consoles

The charming yarn-based platformer Unravel 2 has been revealed during the EA conference... and then immediately released for both PC and consoles! It's also worth mentioning that Unravel 2 features local co-op, so if you're up for a bit of a relaxing romp with a friend or a loved one, it might just be worth grabbing.

Sea of Solitude is a charming and rather haunting newly announced adventure-exploration game

In the world of Sea of Solitude, people are slowly turning into monsters. Our protagonist, a young woman by the name of Kay, is undergoing such a process herself, her hopelessness and loneliness twisting her body beyond recognition. Quite the conundrum, and quite the art style!

Other Games and Announcements

Total War: Three Kingdoms' latest developer preview shows off some early yet still exciting gameplay

All of the footage is from the pre-alpha build so it's not entirely polished, but it should give you a pretty darn good idea of what to expect from the Three Kingdoms regardless. Personally, it looks pretty darn good already!

Hitman 2 has been announced alongside a rather fetching new trailer

After being leaked a dozen times in two days, Hitman 2 has now finally and officially been announced. You can expect to see a bigger and better version of its predecessor, as well as a greater focus on environmental kills and sabotage. Most importantly, there will also be a new co-op game mode!

Code Vein, Bandai Namco's upcoming Souls inspired RPG, now has a couple of new E3 trailers

If you're wondering what Bandai Namco's 'Anime Souls' is all about, you should check out these new trailers. Each one is only around 30 seconds long, but they should still give you a decent (albeit overly flashy) idea of what to expect from the Code Vein's combat.

Telltale's The Walking Dead: The Final Season has been pinned for August alongside an in-game trailer

After following Clementine's journey for around six years now, Telltale is finally getting ready to conclude the whole storyline with The Walking Dead: Season 4. The details are currently few and far inbetween, but judging by the recently posted trailer it would appear that the fourth and final season will have a much more somber and depressing tone than the previous ones.
