It has been known for around a year now that FromSoftware, the studio behind Dark Souls and Bloodborne, is working on a brand new game, though no actual details have been known until now. As you can probably guess from the title, I am extremely happy to announce that their next game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, will be a Bloodborne inspired action-RPG with a focus on 'challenging but fair' difficulty and extensive customization.

Since there is no better way to showcase this type of game than through actual gameplay, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. Despite being early in development it already looks pretty darn awesome, so I'd definitely recommend you give it a look:

What I find extremely amusing here is that Nioh took a lot of inspiration from Dark Souls, and now the Dark Souls spiritual successor seems to be taking a fair bit of inspiration from Nioh in turn! Not that I particularly mind, because if there is one thing I've realized over the years, it's the simple fact that if FromSoftware is making an RPG, it's almost guaranteed to be one of my favorite games of all time. As such, I must admit I have extremely high hopes for Sekiro!

Whether it's going to live up to those hopes, however, that is something we're going to have to wait for quite a while to see as Sekiro will be releasing in 2019. The only other thing I can tell you is that it will be coming to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and that it will be published by Activision of all companies.

Once more information gets announced I'll make sure to cover it as I'm quite intrigued myself, but until then I'm afraid all we can do is sit and wait. Well, sit and wait and play the recently released Dark Souls Remastered anyway!
