A couple of days ago Blizzard released a fairly small teaser for the next hero. It was quite literally a six-second-long video of a wall in Rialto, with very little else happening on screen. The only interesting part of the teaser was a small image of a monkey painted onto the wall, an image that immediately got people to speculate that the next hero will be Hammond - one of Winston's Moon-monkeys that seems to have orchestrated the downfall of the Horizon Lunar Colony.
The most recent teaser, however, is much more interesting! Instead of a static image of a wall, we now have a giant, seemingly-robotic ball rolling across the screen. Before I say anything else, you should probably go and check out the video over at the official Twitter.

If you ever felt like the Dark Elves just don't have enough monstrosities in their unit roster, you'll be glad to hear that they have now received the Kharibdyss as a brand new unit. As you can probably figure out from the image alone, the Kharibdyss is a lumbering monstrosity that's capable of dealing high amounts of damage to large units, spew poison in every direction, and just for good measure, spread terror to all infantry unlucky enough to be close to it. Adorable, isn't it!
The one catch is that the Kharibdyss will only be available to owners of the most recent The Queen & The Crone DLC, though you will still be able to fight against it on both the campaign map and in multiplayer. Besides the new Dark Elf 'puppy', this update has also brought with it a variety of balance changes. You'll find the full patch notes over at the official website, but what I feel is worth highlighting the most are the numerous buffs to the somewhat underpowered Bretonnia.

Summer Games Done Quick (as well as Awesome Games Done Quick) is a community organized event where speedrunners from all over the world gather to demolish the games you know and love, all in the name of charity. Much like the previous few years, all of the proceeds from Summer Games Done Quick 2018 will be going to Doctors Without Borders.
The marathon has only recently begun, so if you would like to join in and see what SGDQ has to offer, simply head on over to Twitch. If you don't have the time, however, worry not as all of the runs will be uploaded on Youtube in the near future. Chances are the early uploads will have some audio issues, as is tradition, but if you can wait for a couple of days everything should be sorted out.

If you're getting close to the next bracket, or if you haven't even done your placement matches, you might want to hurry up as the 10th season of Overwatch Competitive Play is just about ready to end. To be more specific, Season 10 will end on June 27 at 5:00pm PDT, or rather on Thursday, June 28 at 00:00 UTC.
As always, your rewards at the end will depend on your season high, rather than your final rating. In other words, if you're really close to the next tier and you feel like you have what it takes, I would highly recommend grinding out a couple of matches in order to try and reach that goal. After all, you have very little to lose since the next season will reshuffle your rating anyway.

The Crew 2 is an open-world racing game were you can explore a scaled-down recreation of the United States with a variety of vehicles such as cars, boats, airplanes and so forth. If all of that sounds like something you would love to try out, you'll be glad to hear that The Crew 2 devs are currently holding an Open Beta for PC and consoles.
You can find out more, as well as download the game itself, over at the official website. I would recommend you do so as soon as possible given that the Open Beta will only last for a couple of days, until June 25th to be exact. Once that's done you'll probably have to wait until the June 29th release date to get another chance to jump in.

Quite a lot of time has passed since Brigitte first appeared in Overwatch, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that Blizzard has now begun teasing the next hero. What might come as a bit of a surprise is that unlike the previous few teasers, Blizzard has opted to give us very little new information this time around.
If you're wondering just how little we're talking about, let's just say that they've quite literally posted a six-second-long video of a wall in Rialto! The one interesting aspect of this teaser is that the wall now features a couple of new images, most notably a small, swinging monkey. Before I say anything else, you should probably go and check out the video over at the Overwatch Twitter.

If you're like me and you play World of Warcraft in short bursts, you might be glad to hear that it's currently having a free weekend. From now until June 25th, all currently inactive accounts are being given full access to the game without requiring a subscription or any sort of payment. So if you're up for revisiting your characters ahead of the Battle for Azeroth expansion, now would be the time to do so!
On the other hand, if you're a brand new player and you're wondering whether this promotion extends to you as well, you might want to check out the free Starter Edition. You'll only be able to reach level 20, but you'll be able to play with all of the races and classes, so as far as "try it before you buy it" is considered, I'd say the Starter Edition is a pretty darn good deal. You can find out more over at the official website.

Vermintide 2's Update 1.1 brought in a whole bunch of new cosmetics, as well as daily quests and challenges with major rewards behind them. While the challenges were and still are a pretty nifty addition, a good portion of them were unfortunately impossible to complete on launch. You probably already know the ones I'm talking about: pushing Gutter Runners off allies and mid-flight, killing Blightstormers while they're channeling, and killing a Ratling Gunner while they're pinning your ally. Thankfully, all of those issues have now been fixed!
Perhaps more interestingly, this update has also removed the highly controversial Red Shell tracker. It's intended use is to give developers information about the effectiveness of their marketing campaigns, but given that it's a third-party software people were rightly worried that their private information could end up in the wrong hands. Well, you no longer need to worry about that as Fatshark has now decided to remove the Red Shell tracker entirely.

If you're a fan of turn-based RPGs with a great deal of customization, you might be interested to hear that Shadowrun Returns is currently free on the Humble Store. The catch is that the promotion will only last for another ~14 hours, so do make sure to grab it as soon as possible.
As for whether it's actually worth your time, I would say the answer is a definite yes if you're an RPG fan. While Shadowrun Returns is the weakest of the three modern Shadowrun games, it's still a highly entertaining RPG that kept me glued to the screen for two days straight, and that is about as high of a praise I can offer. So for the low, low price of free, I would say it's well worth giving it a try!

[Update]: Darkest Dungeon 2 is heading into Early Access on October 26, 2021
If you're interested in getting even more playtime out of Darkest Dungeon, you might want to check out the newly released The Color of Madness DLC. While it doesn't expand upon the story in any major way, it does bring with it an Endless Quest mode, an all new faction of corrupted farmers, three new bosses, four new districts, and naturally, a whole bunch of items and quirks to toy around with.
You can get a bit of a sneak peek at what all of this looks like in-game through the recently posted trailer down below. Have a look, it's a short but interesting video:
