After spending a relatively short amount of time on the PTR, Overwatch latest tank/support hybrid Brigitte has now arrived onto the live servers. Unfortunately, she is only going to be available in Quick Play and Arcade game modes until the end of this current season. If that doesn't sound like too big of a deal, I'm afraid I have some bad news - this season will last for another 5 weeks or so! A truly puzzling decision, but hopefully one that Blizzard will eventually remedy because having to wait 5 weeks to 'properly' play a brand new hero is both silly and utterly anticlimactic.

That aside, if you're unfamiliar with Brigitte and you're wondering what exactly she has to offer (as well as how her name is even pronounced), you'll find everything you need to know in the most recent spotlight video down below. Have a look, it's short but sweet:

Besides Brigitte herself, this update has also brought with it an assortment of bug fixes, the ability to see the ultimate charge of your allies by pressing Tab, as well as some minor nerfs to Sombra. If you're interested in all of the details you'll find the full patch notes over at the Blizzard forums, but for now here are all of the most important changes, by which I mean the two new Sombra nerfs:

Sombra

Hack

- Now goes on a 2-second cooldown when interrupted by damage

- Now more consistently interrupted when targets break line of sight

Developer Comments: We’re also removing the 0.1 second window of time during a hack where it couldn’t be canceled via line of sight or with other abilities including Tracer’s Recall and Zarya’s Particle Barrier, which was originally put in place so the hack wouldn’t be interrupted by small objects such as light posts. We’ve implemented a separate fix for that issue, so she should still be unaffected by those small objects.

If you're now worried that this will make Sombra plummet back to the very bottom in terms of winrate, you'll be glad to hear that Blizzard will be keeping a close eye on her over the coming weeks. In the eventuality that she ends up being too weak they have promised to address the issue, which should be a lot easier now that her hack is no longer oppressive against slow and cumbersome heroes like Reihnardt.

As for Brigitte herself, here's a little tip: make sure not to go overly aggressive as she really needs to stick with her team in order to provide any sort of protection. This is especially important when you consider that she has absolutely no recourse against ranged heroes like Soldier 76 who can just burst through her shield and then farm her for ult charge. So just help your fellow supports out by kicking the everliving daylight out of any Genji or Winston that dare come near you and you'll do great!
