Total War: Warhammer 2 screenshot of Crone Hellebron

After being delayed for around half a year now, the savage Norsca has finally made its way to Total War: Warhammer 2 as a playable faction in both the Vortex and Mortal Empires campaign. The patch has also brought with it Total War: Warhammer 2's second piece of paid DLC, The Queen and the Crone, as well as an absolutely massive list of changes for both the new and old races alike.

First things first, The Queen and The Crone DLC brings with it two new Legendary Lords with unique campaign mechanics, Alarielle the Everqueen and Crone Hellebron, as well as a new Hero type for the High Elves and a new Lord type for the Dark Elves. There's also a new and rather powerful campaign 'resource' to fight over in the form of the Sword of Khaine, a variety of new units for both the Dark Elves and High Elves, and naturally, a whole host of new Regiments of Renown. You can get a brief glimpse of all of them in action through the recently posted trailer. Have a look:

As for the rest of the update, you'll be glad to hear that the Dwarfs have received some much-needed changes and additions. Ungrim Ironfist will now be starting from Karak Kadrin, Giant Slayers have been added as a new unit, and perhaps most importantly of all, the Dwarfs now have a Tomb Kings inspired Forge where they can craft some truly powerful weapons and armor. So if you haven't played the Dwarfs in a while, make sure to give the new and improved version a try since their campaign is a lot more interesting now.

On a similar note, you'll also be glad to hear that the Skaven food mechanic has been slightly adjusted in order to allow for a much more elegant endgame. Instead of having to constantly raid your own lands for food, you will now be able to secure new sources of food through buildings, technologies and rites. In other words, instead of being highly limited in the amount of armies you can maintain, you will now be able to unleash a true Vermintide upon your opponents!

The update has also added a brand new High Elf hero by the name of Alith Aran. If you're interested in his campaign effects and strategies, you will find the recently posted preview over here. As for the update itself, you will find all of the details and patch notes over at the official website. Have fun, and make sure to play around with the Sword of Khaine as that thing is insanely powerful!
