Total War: Three Kingdoms cinematic screenshot

After suffering a bit of a delay, Total War: Three Kingdoms has now finally made its way to PC. Besides a brand new setting, Three Kingdoms brings with it a variety of improvements to diplomacy and espionage, makes it so battles have an effect on your heroes and their relationships, and perhaps most importantly, offers the option to choose between realistic and Dynasty Warriors inspired battles!

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in gameplay terms, allow me to share with you the recently posted and rather lengthy preview. Have a gander, it's quite an interesting one:

[Update 3]: According to the newest rumors, Blizzard is working on a story-focused Overwatch spin-off!

[Update 2]: There is a double EXP event running through June 10th, so go and farm up those cosmetics!

[Update]: The next patch will bring with it the long-awaited replay system, as well as a variety of balance changes and tweaks to the Assault (2CP) mode!

After being announced only a few days ago, Overwatch's third Anniversary update has now arrived. It brings with it all of the previous event game modes, all of the numerous event skins at discounted prices, as well as a variety of new cosmetics. Best of all, the vast majority of the new cosmetics are genuinely good, with a special shoutout going towards Gargoyle Winston!

If you're wondering what these cosmetics might look like, as well as what new stuff the Anniversary update has to offer as a whole, allow me to share with you the recently posted teaser. Have a gander, it's a pretty fun one:

Apex Legends artwork for Gibraltar

After being delayed over and over and over again, Apex Legends' bugfixing patch has now finally arrived. The list of features it brings with it isn't exactly massive, but it is still a solid step forward for Apex Legends and hopefully the sign of more patches to come.

First and foremost, Caustic and Gibraltar's 10% damage reduction passive has now been fully fixed, meaning you will no longer take random health damage straight through your shields. Perhaps more importantly, when shooting at Caustic and Gibraltar, you will now once again be able to see what level of body armor they have instead of just getting no information whatsoever.

Rainbow Six Siege official artwork for the Warden operator

[Update]: Rainbow Six Siege' Neon Dawn update preview shows off the laser-wielding Operator Aruni.

If you're looking for something to help spice up your gameplay, you might be interested to hear that Ubisoft will soon be introducing two new Operators to Rainbow Six Siege: the defender Warden and the attacker Nøkk. The upcoming update will also greatly rework the Kafe Dostoyevsky map, all in an effort to make it more balanced and exciting to play on.

In terms of abilities, Warden will bring with him a sharp dress sense and high-tech glasses that allow him to become immune to flashes and to see through smoke. A fairly simple kit, but as we all know, being able to see things tends to be pretty useful!

[Update]: Rage 2's very first expansion Rise of the Ghosts is coming on September 26th.

After a whole host of teasers and previews, RAGE 2 made its way to PC and consoles last week. While the initial response wasn't exactly amazing, there is a chance for things to turn around as the developers have now announced their plans for the upcoming free and paid content updates.

The first of these additions has already arrived in the form of weekly community challenges. Simply take part in the weekly event by contributing towards the shared objective, and once the whole thing has been completed you'll get a fancy new skin for your troubles. Personally, I'd prefer it if you had to do each of the challenges yourself as that makes things a bit more tricky, but I certainly won't complain about having more cosmetics to mess around with.

If you're itching for even more Stellaris content, you might be interested to hear that Paradox has now announced a brand new story pack - Stellaris: Ancient Relics. The Ancient Relics expansion will allow you to delve the ruins of mysterious civilizations in pursuit of knowledge and technology, discover what exactly made the two extremely powerful precursor civilizations go extinct, as well as explore a variety of now-dead Relic Worlds.

There isn't much concrete information currently available as Paradox tends to only show their hand when the release date is nearly upon us, but here's the brief description and teaser trailer that came with the announcement. They should hopefully give you a better idea of just what Ancient Relics is trying to focus on. Have a look:

[Update #2]: Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII will only be a PlayStation exclusive until 2021!

[Update]: Final Fantasy VII Remake's newest TGS trailer is somehow even more impressive!

After being announced quite a few years ago alongside massive fanfare, Final Fantasy VII's remake and any news surrounding it simply vanished into the ether. Given the lack of any sort of information, as well as the switch towards internal development, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that there were a fair few rumors saying that Final Fantasy VII is stuck in development hell, or has even been outright canceled!

Thankfully, this has turned out to be false as Square Enix has revealed a rather beautiful trailer during the recent PlayStation event. So if you're curious, here's what the current version of Final Fantasy VII's remake looks like:

Out of all the new features Overwatch has introduced over the years, the upcoming Workshop modding tools are by far the most impressive. The Workshop tools might not have the ability to create custom maps, but tweaking pretty much everything else seems to be on the table. They've only been in beta for a couple of weeks now, and already people have created comprehensive training courses, racing maps, new game modes, and everything in between.

With that in mind, I am very happy to announce that the Workshop tools will be officially launched this May 21st alongside the Anniversary update. In other words, not only will Overwatch get a whole bunch of Blizzard-created game modes this week, it will also get an avalanche of custom games created by the players themselves!

Splinter Cell Blacklist screenshot of the spy character fighting a merc

[Update]: Two decades after the original, Ubisoft has now announced a Splinter Cell remake.

It has been quite a few years since the last Splinter Cell game, so you can imagine how excited people got when an accidental leak last year showed that Ubisoft is working on a brand new one. Ubisoft naturally denied the rumors, but the topic came up again earlier last week as Julian Gerighty, Ubisoft's Creative Director, quite bluntly stated that he is working on a new Splinter Cell game.

Once again Ubisoft came out to squash any rumors by saying that Julian was simply joking, but to be perfectly honest, I'm not exactly sure I believe that. A Creative Director is surely clever enough to understand that teasing a much-anticipated game right before E3 is just asking for trouble. Besides, a joke is supposed to be funny!

Mortal Kombat 11 official artwork and logo

[Update]: The developers have now added options for 60 FPS throughout all of Mortal Kombat 11, though this has brought about some issues.

While Mortal Kombat 11 runs at 60 FPS throughout most of the match, there are certain animations that are locked to 30 FPS. This is most easily noticeable on close-up animations like fatalities as it makes them feel just a bit more sluggish than the rest of the game.

With that in mind, I am glad to say that the developers are now working on giving players the option of increasing the cap from 30 to 60 FPS. The exact release date for this tweak has not been announced just yet, but according to the most recent update, there will be more details coming "soon".
