Overwatch's third Anniversary update arrived a little while ago, bringing with it a whole bunch of content to play around with. Throughout the Anniversary event you can acquire a variety of new cosmetics, all of the previous event cosmetics, experience all of the previous event game modes, as well as try out the newly introduced and highly enjoyable Workshop modding tools and game modes!

In order to get everyone into the festive mood, Blizzard has also now launched a double experience weekened for both PC and consoles. The event will last until June 10th and the bonuses will apply to every single game mode, so no matter what playstyle you might enjoy, you'll be able to secure yourself a whole bunch of new loot!

Speaking of which, the most optimal way of farming loot boxes would be to team up with at least one friend, achieve at least one gold medal per match, continuously play Quick Play without leaving the queue, and ideally, winning the match on top of that. However, while that is objectively the best method in terms of experience per hour, it is worth mentioning that you can get three free loot boxes by playing in the Arcade. As such, I would highly recommend you do that before getting into some of the standard game modes.

That's pretty much everything you need to know about this event, but just for good measure, I'll leave you with a rather juicy rumor: Overwatch is apparently getting a story-focused spin-off game!
