Out of all the Warhammer spin-off games, Blood Bowl is definitely the most bizarre and interesting one. It's basically American football where teams of elves, dwarfs, orks, undead and even demons of chaos, all gather together to play an extremely violent version of the sport where beating the opposing team up is just as important as controlling the ball.
If that sort of crazy nonsense sounds like a good bit of fun, you might be interested to hear that Blood Bowl 3 has now been announced. Very few details have been revealed just yet, but what I can tell you is that Blood Bowl 3 will be developed by Cyanide Studios, the developers behind the previous two games, and that it will feature all-new rules in order to address some of the long-standing complaints.

I hope you've managed to save up some in-game currency, because Overwatch's third Anniversary event will be arriving this May 21st. No official end date has been announced just yet, but given that the previous events stuck around for three weeks, I think it's safe to say this Anniversary event will end around June 10th.
As far as content is concerned, the Anniversary event will bring with it a bunch of new cosmetics (including a D.Va skin that is so good it'll "break the Internet"), all of the previous seasonal brawls, as well as all of the previous event cosmetics. And yes, this does include the most recent Storm Rising event. So if you have any achievements you want to complete or skins you want to collect, this would be your last chances for the foreseeable future.

If you're looking for something to play, or just to fill out your backlog, you might want to check out the currently ongoing "Skulls for the Skull Throne" sale on Steam. From now until 10am PST on Monday, you can pick up a variety of Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40k games at deep discounts.
The excellent Total War: Warhammer 2 has added a brand new Amethyst Wizard for the occasion, as well as reduced the price by 33%. Vermintide 2 has slashed the price even further by offering a 60% discount, along with a couple of in-game goodies for those that are willing to spill blood for the blood god.

After repeatedly announcing that they will announce an announcement next week, I am very glad to say that Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment has now finally revealed that the long-awaited bugfixing patch will be coming early next week. No exact date has been given just yet, but considering that most of the updates so far have been done on Tuesdays, I think it's safe to say the same thing will apply here as well.
In terms of actual content, the update isn't exactly massive, but it does bring with it fixes for some of the most important issues. First and foremost, Gibraltar and Caustic players will be happy to hear that their Fortify (10% damage reduction) passive will no longer cause damage to their health and will instead work as advertised.

[Update]: Monster Hunter: World - Iceborne has continued the cross-over tradition by now including Resident Evil 2's Clair Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy and Mr. X!
After a rather long wait, Monster Hunter: World's recent PC update has finally added The Witcher 3 collaboration event. As you might expect given the name and the image above, the event introduced Geralt as a playable character with his own unique quest, voice acting, armor, equipment, as well as a fancy new boss to fight against - the Leshen.
While the quest is certainly fun, and the Geralt themed armor decently powerful for new characters, the real meat of this whole collaboration event has only just arrived. By defeating the newly unlocked and extremely challenging Ancient Leshen you can now craft Ciri's armor, cosmetic variants of both Geralt and Ciri's armors, as well as Ciri's "Zireael" dual blades.

[Update #2]: The PC version of Detroit: Become Human has now landed onto the Epic Games Store alongside support for 4K resolutions and 60 fps.
[Update]: Detroit: Become Human will be coming to PC this December 12th, after which the whole 'series' will be fully playable on PC.
After being exclusive to consoles for quite a few years now, Quantic Dream's story-focused games will be making their way to PC throughout 2019. Heavy Rain will be the first one to arrive on June 24th, Beyond: Two Souls will follow on July 22nd, while the newest and most interesting Detroit: Become Human will be released at some point this fall.
If you're not exactly sure what these games have to offer, or if you're curious about the quality of the PC port, you might be interested to hear that Quantic Dreams has now announced that all three will have a free demo. Best of all, the demos will arrive a good few weeks before the game itself, which should give you plenty of time to decide whether to open up your wallet or not.

While the Bethesda Launcher version of RAGE 2 released without any additional DRM, the Steam version arrived alongside the often bemoaned Denuvo DRM. As you might imagine, this didn't exactly go over well with the Steam community, especially when people realized that the Bethesda Launcher version was seemingly loading faster.
In order to correct this issue, as well as hopefully ease some of the tensions, Bethesda has now issued a hotfix that completely removes the Denuvo DRM. It is unlikely that Denuvo's removal will greatly increase performance, but to perfectly honest, having less layers of DRM is almost always going to be a good thing in my book.

[Update #2]: A closed beta version of Dota Underlords has now been released for Dota 2 - The International 2019 Battle Pass owners.
[Update]: It would appear that Dota Underlords will be Valve's version of the highly popular Dota Auto Chess mod.
It's been known for a while now that Valve is working on multiple new games, some of which are supposed to be VR exclusives that would showcase what the newly announced Valve Index could do. While the exact nature of these games still remains a mystery, you might be interested to hear that Valve has now filed a trademark for one of them - Dota Underlords.
What exactly Dota Underlords is about, or if it's even a standalone game, nobody currently knows. It is entirely possible it could be an extension of Dota 2, perhaps even tie in with the recent Battle Pass and it's new event, though until Valve releases an official statement I'd take all of this as pure speculation.

If you're looking for some way to escape the slowly rising heat, you might be interested to hear that Ubisoft is currently giving away their extreme winter sports game Steep. So if you're up for skiing, gliding, snowboarding, or just faceplanting your way across a variety of lovely vistas, make sure to head on over to the official website to grab yourself a copy.
The only catch is that this whole giveaway will last until May 21st, so do make sure to snatch a copy before the whole thing goes away. Once you have it bound to your account you won't have to do anything else, it'll be yours to keep, so it's better to just do it now while you still remember.

[Update]: Total War: Warhammer 2's next DLC, The Hunter & The Beast, will be greatly improving the Empire faction, as well as adding some lovely new units for the Lizardmen!
Total War: Warhammer 2's recent The Prophet and the Warlock DLC brought in two new factions to play around with, as well as a whole bunch of new units. While certainly fun to use, some of these new units and abilities were so ridiculously overpowered that the AI would simply roll over dead every time you met it. This goes doubly so for the new Skaven faction as surprise, surprise, the Empire armies aren't exactly capable of dealing with a nuclear missile!
In order to correct these balance problems, as well as fix some of the newer bugs, Creative Assembly has now released The Amethyst Update. The Skaven and Lizardmen armies have received some much-needed nerfs, the Invocation of Nehek spell has once again been weakened, while the Beastmen Cygor and Giant units have finally got some nice damage buffs to help compensate for their size.
