While Rage 2 may have ended up being a bit of a disappointment, it will soon have a chance to redeem itself. And I really do mean soon, as Rage 2's Rise of the Ghosts expansion will be coming to both PC and consoles on September 26th!

Rise of the Ghosts will bring with it a large new region to explore, as well as the titular Ghosts as a brand new faction to square off against. You'll also be able to unlock a new weapon and ability, as well as 'borrow' one of the Ghost's fancy motorcycles in order to make transportation a bit more interesting.

The standard version will set you back $15, though if you're looking for a little bit more content, you might also want to check out the $20 Deluxe Edition. That one offers the Rise of the Ghosts expansion, as well as a couple of in-game goodies like Doom's BFG and a cosmetic battle standard.

Whether the Rise of the Ghosts expansion or the bonus content are actually worth it or not, only time will tell. I certainly hope Avalanche and Bethesda will manage to pull Rage 2 out of the rut it's currently stuck in, because I can see genuine potential in it and its awesome gunplay. It's really the open-world and the general feeling of aimlessness that has let the whole experience down, and that's exactly something Rise of the Ghosts is in a prime position to correct.
