Conan Unconquered screenshot of a siege

Conan Unconquered is a freshly released strategy game in the vein of They Are Billions. What this means in gameplay terms is that you'll spend most of your time building an impenetrable fortress, collecting resources and assembling an army, and then fending off wave after wave of bloodthirsty barbarians that would love nothing more than to torch your newfound city.

You can get a pretty good idea of what all of this looks like in-game through one of the recently posted developer previews. Have a look, it's pretty informative video:

Minecraft: Story Mode official screenshot showing off numerous characters

Due to business reasons I probably can't even comprehend, Minecraft: Story Mode is currently in the process of being pulled from all store shelves, both virtual and physical. Any sort of support for Season 1 and Season 2 will be stopping on June 25th, so if you ever wanted to give the series a try, this would be your last chance to do so.

According to Microsoft's announcement, it is highly recommended that you download all of the episodes prior to the service being discontinued in June. Whether they will be downloadable after the fact for current owners, I'm afraid nobody knows for certain, so I would advise taking Microsoft's advice quite seriously.

Warcraft 3: Reforged screenshot of Orcs attacking a Human base

[Update #2]: Warcraft 3: Reforged has now finally been released, and it's unfortunately a bit of a mixed bag.

[Update]: Blizzard has now revealed that Warcraft 3: Reforged will be released in January 28, 2020!

Warcraft 3: Reforged is set to arrive later this year, bringing with it a whole bunch of improvements over the original. You can expect to see greatly enhanced visuals, support for 4K resolutions and a variety of graphics options, better online play, and perhaps most importantly for Warcraft 3: Reforged's longevity, a significantly improved Map Editor!

While not exclusive to Warcraft 3: Reforged, Blizzard is also working on rebalancing all of the factions. The end goal, as you might imagine, is to make as many heroes and playstyles viable in both casual and high level play. After all, seeing a Demon Hunter and Death Knight duke it out throughout the early game was  fun, but not if that's literally all you ever saw!

Baldur's Gate 3 teaser logo from the Larian website

[Update #2]: After three years in Early Access, Baldur's Gate 3 has now launched to overwhelming praise!

[Update]: Baldur's Gate 3 has now been officially announced!

Despite their goofy nature, Divinity: Original Sin 1 and 2 are some of the best RPGs I've ever played. They feature tons of viable builds to mess around with, plenty of areas to explore and secrets to find, as well as numerous ways to solve every single problem - some of which are so ridiculous I couldn't actually believe the developers thought of them.

With that in mind, I am beyond delighted to say that Larian Studios appear to have now set their sights on the ancient and equally revered RPG series - Baldur's Gate! While the full announcement has not been released just yet, saving and examining the teaser video quite clearly showed that Wizards of the Coast is involved and that this is about Baldur's Gate 3. The offending details have since been removed, but it's a little bit too late to hide anything at this point.

Apex Legends screenshot of the new Wraith and R301 Battle Pass skins

[Update]: The new patch has now arrived with even more changes in tow!

Apex Legends' very first Battle Pass arrived a few months ago, and as I mentioned even back then, it's not a very good one. There's only four unique and interesting items in the entire Battle Pass, there are no fun challenges or event game modes to participate in, and worst of all, the whole thing takes well over 100 hours to fully finish, and that's if you're taking advantage of all the experience boosts.

Thankfully, it would appear that Respawn is well aware of all the flaws as they have just now announced a whole bunch of improvements to the current Battle Pass, as well as Apex Legends itself. Best of all, these changes and additions will be coming next week, so unlike the previous update, we won't have to wait for long in order to get our hands on the shiny new stuff.

Overwatch Genji fighting against multiple ninjas

Overwatch has recently added the Workshop modding tools, and while they don't allow players to create brand new maps, tweaking pretty much everything else is well within the realm of possibility. As you might imagine, this has quickly given rise to a whole bunch of new game modes, the most popular of which in NA/EU regions is apparently an adaptation of the Uno card game!

If you're wondering what other crazy modes people are currently playing, as well as which ones to check out yourself, you might be glad to hear that Blizzard has now released a list of the most popular custom games per region. Needless to say, there's some pretty good stuff in there!

Vermintide 2's Sienna and Kerillian fighting against Beastmen

[Update #2]: Vermintide 2's Winds of Magic expansion is already playable for those that have pre-ordered!

[Update]: Fatshark has now released a lengthy developer update detailing their plans for the Winds of Magic expansion, as well as the future of Vermintide 2.

After releasing a couple of map-based DLCs, Vermintide 2 developer Fatshark is now setting their sights on a more substatial content update - the Winds of Magic expansion. While the details are still few and far between, you can expect to see the Beastmen as a new enemy faction, a variety of new weapons to play around with, a higher level cap and all-new loot, as well as the titular Winds of Magic mode that will have you explore semi-randomized levels in search of ever-greater challenges.

If all of that sounds as good to you as it does to me, you'll be glad to hear that Fatshark has now announced that the Winds of Magic expansion will be coming this August. Better yet, they have started accepting sign-ups for the closed beta, so if you're looking to get a bit of a sneak peek, make sure to submit your email on the latest announcement page.

Anthem official artwork without the logo

[Update #2]: BioWare has now officially stopped all development on Anthem.

[Update]: It seems that BioWare is not giving up on Anthem. They have now announced that they are planning to reinvent and rebuild its gameplay and character progression from the ground up!

While the actual gameplay is genuinely enjoyable, Anthem has unfortunately launched with quite a few serious problems under its belt. In order to assure the community that they have everything under control, as well as to showcase the content that is to come, BioWare quickly unveiled a Roadmap filled with all sorts of new features. As you're probably well aware at this point, some of those Roadmap features have sadly never come to fruition.

This is where I would love to tell you that BioWare has solved all of the problems and is bringing in a boatload of new content, but I'm afraid that's not exactly the case. After already missing some of their Roadmap release dates, BioWare has now simply removed just about everything interesting from the Roadmap.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy screenshot of Spyro flying around enemies

[Update]: The Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been officially announced for both PC and Nintendo Switch!

The Spyro Reignited Trilogy arrived for consoles a little while ago alongside some fairly solid reviews. While no word about the PC version was ever officially given, numerous leaks have made it blatantly apparent that there is one in the works.

The latest in this list of leaks and rumors is the listing on the Taiwanese rating board showing off the PC version's cover and developer. Should this leak end up being true, then you can consider me extremely happy as Iron Galaxy will be the ones handling the PC port! If the name doesn't ring a bell, you might recognize them as the team that already did an excellent job with the PC version of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.

Team Sonic Racing official artwork and logo

After already creating one of the best kart games out there in the form of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Sumo Digital has now returned to the genre with Team Sonic Racing. While it features many of the same mechanics and the same sort focus on polish as its predecessor, Team Sonic Racing unfortunately doesn't feature any transformable vehicles or third-party characters.

If you don't mind that little detail and you're wondering just what Team Sonic Racing has to offer, allow me to share with you one of the recent trailers. Have a look:
