World of Warcraft: Shadowlands artwork for the vampire faction

[Update #2]: World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Beta is coming next week, while the full release is set to arrive in Fall

[Update]: Shadowlands' latest preview is all about the Ardenweald zone and Night Fae Covenant.

In a recent conference call, Activision Blizzard has confirmed that World of Warcraft's Shadowlands expansion is on track to release in Q4 of 2020, despite the pandemic slowing things down a bit. The exact release date still remains a mystery, though it's highly likely that Shadowlands will be arriving during the holiday season.

When it comes to fresh content, the Shadowlands expansion will bring with it a brand new set of zones to explore, as well as four Covenants that will offer loyal players a variety of new abilities and cosmetics to toy around with. There will also be an endless and ever-changing dungeon in the shape of Thorgast, the Tower of the Damned. You'll be able to delve through its halls either solo or in a group, but regardless of your choice, there will be plenty of tricky enemies to face off against, bosses to test your skills, as well as even more powerful (but Thorgast limited) abilities to uncover and experiment with.

[Update #2]: The Warden & The Paunch DLC has now arrived, and unsurprisingly, it's yet another pretty good one.

[Update]: The newly launched gameplay preview is all about Grom and his 'immensitude'!

While this should come as no surprise given all of the teasers and rumors, Total War: Warhammer 2's next DLC has now finally been revealed as The Warden & The Paunch. Once it arrives on May 21st, the expansion will bring with it the enormous bulk of Grom the Paunch and his eternally angry rival Eltharion the Grim, as well as an assortment of new units for both the Greenskins and High Elves.

Each of the two Legendary Lords will feature drastically different campaigns, both from each other and their overall faction as a whole. Grom the Paunch will mostly focus on sampling a variety of delicacies from across the world, all the while unleashing his horde of Greenskins on everyone along the way. On the other hand, Eltharion the Grim will be all about fortifying his home of Tor Yvresse and interrogating anyone that might have information about his archenemy's whereabouts.

In order to get as many eyes as possible on the upcoming release of Evil Genius 2, Rebellion has now launched a giveaway for the original classic. As the name would suggest, Evil Genius will have you construct your evil lair in secret, recruit and train a variety of dastardly henchmen, and then launch a campaign of global domination while simultaneously defending yourself from would-be heroes.

If that kind of nonsense sounds like it's right up your alley, you can grab yourself a free copy of Evil Genius over at the Rebellion website. The giveaway will only last for a "limited time", so you might want to jump in sooner rather than later, just to be safe.

[Update #2]: Fallen Order's sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is heading to PC and consoles on March 17th, 2023.

[Update]: Respawn is working on three new Star Wars games, including a sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order.

If you're looking to get a few more hours out of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, you might want to check out the newly launched update. It has not only brought with it a variety of cosmetics to spice up your New Journey + playthrough, but also a fairly customizable new Arena game mode that lets you square off against a whole host of enemies.

You can either choose to fight the pre-set challenges that will take you all across the universe and revisit all of the various enemies, or you can simply create your own. Doing so might sound complicated, but it's thankfully an incredibly easy task. Just add the enemies and allies you want to see, change up the battle arena or add difficulty modifiers if you wish, and then jump into action with the press of a single button. Pretty neat!

Apex Legends artwork showing Loba and the various Legends

[Update #2]: Respawn has now detailed how the story-focused Quests will work in Season 5!

[Update]: Season 5's newest preview shows off Loba, massive Kings Canyon changes, and even the new quest system!

While it has been slightly delayed due to the ongoing pandemic, Apex Legends' Season 5 and its accompanying update are nearly upon us. Once they arrive on May 12th you can expect to see Loba as a brand new character, a variety of changes to Kings Canyon, a brand new Battle Pass and quest system, as well as numerous new cosmetics to collect.

The details are still few and far between, but you can get a little bit of a sneak peek at Loba's abilities, as well as some Kings Canyon changes, through the newly posted trailer. Have a look, it's a pretty fun one:

[Update #2]: The Warden & The Paunch DLC has now arrived, and unsurprisingly, it's yet another pretty good one.

[Update]: The Warden and The Paunch DLC has now been revealed, and unsurprisingly, it features an obese Goblin and his permanently grumpy High Elf rival!

When it comes to Total War: Warhammer 2, the Greenskins are simply not in a good place. Their mechanics and tech tree are highly outdated and completely outclassed by newer factions, while their roster is both inflexible and weak. Not exactly an ideal situation for a race that's supposed to be a nearly unstoppable menace.

Thankfully, this will be changing in the near future as the next update will bring with it the much-needed Greenskins rework. While this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise given the various teasers so far, the update will also arrive alongside a brand new piece of DLC - one heavily focused on the Greenskins themselves.

Preview image for Subnautica: Below Zero's Frostbite update

[Update #2]: Subnautica: Below Zero will be leaving Early Access and launching in full on May 14, 2021.

[Update]: The next patch in line has added more diversity to the biomes, new machinery, and most importantly of all, alien salad!

Unhappy with the state of the current storyline, Subnautica: Below Zero developers have been hard at work on rewriting the story for quite a while now. While the process still isn't complete, you might be happy to hear that the latest Frostbite update has added the beginnings of an all-new story, as well as an intro cinematic detailing the crash landing onto Planet 4546B.

The update has also brought in a whole bunch of polish for existing content, including an extensive rework of the Glacial Basin biome. The Glacial Basin now not only has more nooks and crannies to uncover, each potentially filled with juicy loot and not-so-juicy monsters, but it also connects more seamlessly with the nearby biomes.

[Update #2]: Blizzard has now officially removed Hero Pools from Competitive Play.

[Update]: Blizzard is also looking into tweaking Moira and the support category as a whole.

Hero Pools (essentially hero bans) have been introduced to Overwatch in order to combat the stale meta and force teams to get creative when it comes to their strategies. However, while Hero Pools have been a decent success in the Overwatch League and in the higher echelons of Competitive Play, their impact in the lower ranks has been pretty negligible.

As such, the next update will be removing Hero Pools for Diamond rank and below, while maintaining it for Master and Grandmaster ranks, as well as the Overwatch League. Furthermore, in order to combat the recent trend of only popular but balanced heroes getting banned, the new Hero Pools will be based on Overwatch League data instead of high level Competitive Play data.

Planetside 2 screenshot of the new Colossus tank

[Update #2]: Planetside 2's The Shattered Warpgate update has brought in a giant chunk of new content.

[Update]: The Colossus tank has now arrived, and it's deadly against both air and ground opponents!

It seems that the Planetside 2 developers have fully embraced the 'bigger is better' motto. Just recently they have unleashed the absolutely massive Bastion Fleet Carriers that serve as floating battle stations, and now they have also unveiled the smaller yet still rather sizable Colossus tank.

Unlike the various other Main Battle Tank options, the Colossus will require five players to operate at full capacity. The main player will be doing all of the driving and using the main cannon, while the four other players will provide much-needed support from the various turrets. Here's a little sneak peek at what it looks like in-game:

[Update #2]: Season 5's newest preview shows off Loba, massive Kings Canyon changes, and even the new quest system!

[Update]: A brand new trailer has been released, this time around highlighting Loba's abilities and some of the Kings Canyon changes.

As is the case with pretty much every game these days, Apex Legends is having to slow things down a little bit due to most of the developers working from home. As such, Season 5 has now been pushed back an extra week and will be arriving this May 12th with a whole bunch of changes, a new Battle Pass, as well as a brand new character.

It's not all bad, however, as this does mean that Season 4 has been extended by an entire week. So if you still have some cosmetics to pick up from the Season 4 Battle Pass, this would be the perfect (and final) chance to do so.
