Apex Legends artwork for the Legacy of a Thief cinematic short

[Update #2]: Season 5's newest preview shows off Loba, massive Kings Canyon changes, and even the new quest system!

[Update]: A brand new trailer has been released, this time around highlighting Loba's abilities and some of the Kings Canyon changes.

As is the case with pretty much every game these days, Apex Legends is having to slow things down a little bit due to most of the developers working from home. As such, Season 5 has now been pushed back an extra week and will be arriving this May 12th with a whole bunch of changes, a new Battle Pass, as well as a brand new character.

It's not all bad, however, as this does mean that Season 4 has been extended by an entire week. So if you still have some cosmetics to pick up from the Season 4 Battle Pass, this would be the perfect (and final) chance to do so.

Respawn will also be running a couple of armor-focused events throughout the next few days, all in an effort to spice things up a bit ahead of Season 5. So from April 28th to May 2nd, everyone in the event game mode will only be able to equip Level 1 (white) armor. Then from May 2-6, the armor will be upgraded to Level 2 (blue) quality, while May 6-9 will bring with it Level 3 (purple) armor. Even though it's not the most exciting of events, it should at least provide some rather interesting duels as there won't be any armor discrepancy between the players.

The final thing worth mentioning is that Respawn will be revealing the brand new Legend on April 30 at 10am PT. Nothing has been officially announced just yet, but if you're willing to indulge a bit of speculation, there is a good chance the new character will be Loba - the little girl from Revenant's animated short. However, Respawn has already tricked us once with Forge and his unceremonious demise, so who knows, maybe the whole Loba thing is just a misdirection as well.

Either way, you can keep an eye on any further updates over at the official website.
