Total War: Warhammer 2 teaser image from the Greenskins DLC preview

[Update #2]: The Warden & The Paunch DLC has now arrived, and unsurprisingly, it's yet another pretty good one.

[Update]: The Warden and The Paunch DLC has now been revealed, and unsurprisingly, it features an obese Goblin and his permanently grumpy High Elf rival!

When it comes to Total War: Warhammer 2, the Greenskins are simply not in a good place. Their mechanics and tech tree are highly outdated and completely outclassed by newer factions, while their roster is both inflexible and weak. Not exactly an ideal situation for a race that's supposed to be a nearly unstoppable menace.

Thankfully, this will be changing in the near future as the next update will bring with it the much-needed Greenskins rework. While this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise given the various teasers so far, the update will also arrive alongside a brand new piece of DLC - one heavily focused on the Greenskins themselves.

The details are basically nonexistent, but the freshly posted teaser does at least show that the various community theories were somewhat correct! In other words, the next DLC will indeed feature the enormous bulk of Grom the Paunch and his wolf-driven chariot, while his most likely rival will be the High Elf that eventually defeated him - Eltharion the Grim.

In terms of units, only one has been confirmed via the teaser so far - the Rogue Idol of Gork (or quite possibly Mork, if you swing that way). I'd also expect to see the Snotling Pump Wagon, a new variety of Trolls, as well as either more Squig units or the highly inaccurate yet still quite powerful Goblin Spear Chukka. When it comes to the High Elves, however, I'm thinking we'll get to see Gryphon mounts and a Gryphon themed cavalry unit, White Lions and potentially even White Lion chariots, as well as the Lothern Skycutter to give the whole pack a bit more flair.

Whether any of these predictions are actually correct, that we'll see soon enough as the pace of teasers indicates that the DLC and its accompanying update are nearly upon us. Once the full announcement goes live I'll make sure to let you know, but until then, have fun speculating!
