Warhammer: Age of Sigmar artwork of Chaos against Stormcast

[Update]: While no details have been revealed just yet, the Age of Sigmar real-time strategy game has now been delayed until the latter part of 2023.

After creating Elite: Dangerous, Planet Coaster and Jurassic World Evolution, Frontier seems to now be taking things in a bit of a different direction. Instead of it being some sort of simulator, their next game will be a Warhammer: Age of Sigmar real-time strategy.

Details about the game itself are currently few and far between given that it wasn't even officially announced just yet, merely revealed as a part of an IP license agreement. However, what I can say is that Frontier is planning to have it launch in 2023 for PC, consoles and streaming platforms.

Zangetsu screenshot from Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

[Update #2]: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night update has made the umbrella-wielding vampire Bloodless a playable character.

[Update]: Bloodstained has now sold over one million copies, and is celebrating this milestone with a brand new roadmap!

If you're looking for a reason to take Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night for another spin, this latest update should be a pretty good one! Not only has it added Zangetsu as a brand new character with his own abilities and action-packed playstyle, but also a Randomizer game mode that lets you reshuffle and reshape the usual campaign experience.

To unlock Zangetsu all you need to do is complete the good ending, after which you'll be able to choose him on your next playthrough. His character is almost entirely geared towards combat, and with very little in terms of loot or shards to worry about, expect to have a fast and rather exciting playthrough!

Gears Tactics up close screenshot of the heroes

If you've finished up with XCOM: Chimera Squad and you're looking for a bit more turn-based action to mess around with, you might be interested to hear that Gears Tactics has recently landed onto PC and Xbox One. Much like it's inspiration, Gears Tactics is all about sending scores of highly customizable soldiers against overwhelming numbers of enemies, watching them snatch victory from the jaws of defeat time and time again, and then eventually getting them unceremoniously exploded through a series of stupid yet probably avoidable circumstances.

You can get a bit of an idea of what this brand of turn-based strategy looks like in gameplay terms, as well as what sort of hero units you'll be able to utilize, through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander:

Apex Legends screenshot of Loba fighting off Revenant

[Update #2]: Season 5 has now arrived with a whole bunch of changes in tow, including a rather excellent rework of Mirage!

[Update]: The newest Season 5 preview is all about the new trickster Loba and her abilities.

After a slight delay due to the pandemic, Apex Legends' Season 5 will be launching this May 12th alongside a bunch of new content. Expect to see a brand new Legend by the name of Loba, a rather drastic redesign of Kings Canyon that will see Skull Town and Thunderdome sink into the sea, a brand new battle pass and a variety of new cosmetics, as well as the very first story quests.

These quests will be a great way to delve into the lore behind Apex Legends, while also offering players a chance for some co-op action instead of the usual PvP mayhem. There will be nine quests in total for Season 5, each one further exploring Loba's motivations and endless quest for vengeance against the nigh-immortal Revenant. Here's a brief summary from the announcement post:

Rise of the Tomb Raider official artwork without logo

If you're stuck at home and looking for something to play, you might want to check out the newest Square Enix Eidos Anthology bundle as it is absolutely enormous. The bundle contains 54 highly recognizable games and will set you back €38, with the entire revenue going to various charities across North America and Europe!

When it comes to the games themselves, the bundle is no slouch as these aren't just shovelware pieces of garbage simply thrown in to increase the number. Instead, you're looking at games like Rise of the Tomb Raider, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Life is Strange, the Thief and Legacy of Kain series, Sleeping Dogs, and the list goes on.

Overwatch screenshot of Moira using her orbs

[Update #2]: Overwatch devs are attempting to rework and rebalance Moira yet again, though this time around it looks like it might stick!

[Update]: The experimental update has now gone live with Support changes and a surprisingly big Bastion buff.

Even though she never became as oppressive as pre-nerf Mercy or Brigitte, Moira has always been a difficult hero to balance. All she really has going for her is large amounts of healing and the occasional damage orb, which puts her right on the razor's edge between being too strong and too weak. Give her a buff to healing and she's suddenly in every single game because of how easy it is to get value out of her, but if you ever nerf her healing, she immediately gets replaced with Ana and plummets in pickrate.

A rather tricky problem to solve, but one that Blizzard seems to be eager to tackle. As such, expect the upcoming experimental patch to bring with it some major changes to Moira, most likely focused around increasing her skill cap, as well as potentially giving her a little bit more utility.

Halo 2: Anniversary artwork without logo for the PC version

[Update]: Just as planned, Halo 2: Anniversary has now finally made its way to PC.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary made its way to PC as a part of The Master Chief Collection back in March, and I'm very happy to say that Halo 2: Anniversary will soon be following suit. And when I say soon, I really do mean that as Halo 2: Anniversary is coming to PC next week, on May 12th!

In terms of features, the PC version of Halo 2 will add the option for 4K resolutions and 60+ FPS, fully customizable keyboard and mouse support, the ability to mess around with the FOV slider, and the list of technical features goes on. Those of you in the mood for an oldschool Halo 2 experience, however, will also be glad to hear that you will be able to toggle between the remastered graphics from the Anniversary edition and the visuals from the original Halo 2.

Simply head on over to Humble Bundle, click on that giant green button, and you'll be ready to send entire armies to their doom in no time flat!

As for what exactly Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation looks like in gameplay terms, that you'll find out through one of the trailers down below. Have a gander, it should clue you in quite nicely:

Apex Legends official artwork for Season 5's Loba

[Update #2]: The newest Season 5 preview is all about the new trickster Loba and her abilities.

[Update]: Respawn has now detailed how the story-focused Quests will work in Season 5!

Despite a slight delay, Apex Legends' Season 5 is set to arrive this May 12th. It'll bring with it a brand new Legend by the name of Loba, a rather massive rework of Kings Canyon, as well as the very first PvE-focused quests. There will also be a brand new battle pass, a variety of new cosmetics to toy around with, and more likely than not, a fancy new weapon.

If you're curious what all of this might look like in gameplay terms, especially when it comes to the Kings Canyon changes and the sinking of Skull Town, you can find that out by taking a peek at the newest gameplay trailer. Have a gander:

Guild Wars 2 Charr artwork showing off the Steel Legion

[Update]: The No Quarter patch has now landed, and I'm happy to say the new Drizzlewood Coast map is pretty exciting!

After spending a little bit of time reminiscing about the past, Guild Wars 2's storyline will be taking a bold step forward on May 26th. Chapter three of The Icebrood Saga will bring with it an all-out civil war between the Charr factions, Drizzlewood Coast as a hefty and action-packed new region to explore, as well as a variety of new items and cosmetics to adorn your characters with.

While new maps are a fairly standard feature of Guild Wars 2 updates, the upcoming Drizzlewood Coast will be a tad out of the ordinary given that it's taking heavy inspiration from the World vs World game mode. So while there won't be any PvP on the map itself, there will be a map-wide event that will have you siege fortresses, take control of enemy supplies, ambush patrols, and do whatever you can to ensure that the Charr civil war ends as soon as possible.
