Atomega screenshot of a giant stomping the ground

Reflections, an experimental Ubisoft studio most famous for Grow Home and Grow Up, has now released a rather intriguing retro arena-shooter onto Steam. Instead of simply blowing a hole through your enemies and calling it a day, in Atomega you will need to constantly collect matter and energy which lets you transform into larger and more powerful forms, culminating with the nearly godlike Omega.

The concept is a little bit strange, so allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. Its fairly brief, but it should give you a pretty damn good idea of just what Atomega is all about. Have a look:

City of Brass screenshot of a skeleton enemy

City of Brass is a challenging first-person rogue-lite themed after the Arabian Nights. In gameplay terms this means you will be spending most of your time exploring opulent cities and sand-covered ruins, fighting against a variety of mythological creatures as well as boring ol' skeletons, and naturally, trying your hardest to not die a brutal and highly disappointing death.

It just recently arrived on Steam Early Access, and if you're interested in seeing what it has to offer you'll find the launch trailer right below. Its not a very lengthy video, but it should be more than enough to give you a decent idea of just what kind of rogue-lite City of Brass truly is. Have a look:

Pankapu screenshot of a tunnel filled with enemies

Pankapu is a colorful action-adventure that will have you constantly shift between multiple character classes in order to deal with a variety of traps and enemies. Along the way you'll explore levels filled with hidden collectibles to uncover, 35 new skills to unlock, and a bunch of giant bosses that would love nothing more than to smash you into the ground.

If you're interested in seeing what all of this looks like in-gameplay terms, allow me to share with you the launch trailer. Its not very long, but it has enough gameplay to give you a really good idea of what Pankapu is all about. Have a gander:

The First Tree gorgeous screenshot of a fox looking off at the distance

The First Tree is a third-person exploration game centered around two parallel stories: a fox trying to find her missing family, and a son trying to reconnect with his father in Alaska. While the two stories will be intertwined, you will only be guiding the fox on her rather strange journey to the source of all life.

Since this is a deeply atmospheric game, and one that isn't as cheerful as it appears on the surface, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer so you'll get a good idea of what to expect. Have a look, its quite the sight to behold:

Tooth and Tail screenshot of a multiplayer battle

Tooth and Tail is a colorful real-time strategy game from the developers behind Monaco, though it does have a couple of twists that set it far apart from the rest of the genre. First of all, the four available factions are all sentient animals caught in an endless civil war over who gets to eat, and who gets to be eaten! So instead of the usual RTS units you'll be marching forth with an army of flamethrower-wielding boars, mustard gas-lobbing skunks, and other such 'cute' combinations.

The second big difference is that Tooth and Tail eschews the usual RTS complexity in favor of gameplay that is easy to pick up and enjoy. There is still a lot of strategy and planning in each of the matches, but you won't be spending a lot of time micromanaging your units or messing around with your base in the middle of combat. An interesting idea to be sure, and if the Steam reviews are to be believed its one that was executed quite nicely, though at the expense of a somewhat weak campaign AI.

Iron Harvest screenshot of a gigantic mech in the distance

[Update]: Iron Harvest now has a free demo available, though only until June 22, 2020.

Iron Harvest is an upcoming real-time strategy game set in an alternate history version of the 1920s. While the battles still primarily consist of infantry supported with artillery and heavy weapons, there are also highly-maneuverable battle-mechs, walking bunkers, sword-wielding robots, as well as a variety of other crazy, yet incredibly impressive technology.

Since this is one of those games you simply need to see in order to understand, allow me to share with you the recently posted teaser trailer. It doesn't feature much in terms of gameplay, but it should be enough to give you a good idea of just what kind of RTS Iron Harvest truly is. Have a look:

Biomutant up-close screenshot of the main character

[Update #2]: Biomutant has now been pinned for a May 25, 2021 release date!

[Update]: THQ Nordic has released a lengthy preview showing off what Biomutant has to offer!

Biomutant is an upcoming open-world, post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu RPG that will allow you to mix melee, shooting, and mutant abilities in order to devastate everything in your path. Most importantly of all, Biomutant is an incredibly imaginative game filled with bizarre yet charming characters, as well as some rather lovely environments.

Rather than waste your time trying to explain this through words alone, allow me to instead share with you the most recent gameplay trailer. It will give you a pretty damn good idea of why I'm so impressed with Biomutant's style, as well as offer a brief glimpse at what it's gameplay is all about. Have a gander:

Ruiner official artwork and logo

Ruiner is an extremely stylish and fast-paced cyberpunk shooter that will have you explode, slice, and vaporize your way through hordes upon hordes of enemies. In order to do all of this you'll be given access to a variety of high-tech firearms and melee weapons, as well as a whole bunch of gadgets such as energy shields, dash augmentations, hacking tools, and the list goes on for quite a while.

Since trying to explain a brutal action game through words alone is a bit of a pointless venture, allow me to share with you the recently posted teaser trailer. It doesn't feature much in terms of gameplay, but it should still be enough to give you a pretty damn good idea of what Ruiner is all about. Have a look:

Nine Parchments screenshot of a laser shrimp breathing fire

Frozenbyte, the studio most famous for their Trine series, is currently working on a brand new co-op action-adventure seemingly inspired by Magicka. What this means in gameplay terms is that you will be able to master a wide variety of spells and effects, explode or crush hordes upon hordes of enemies, and hopefully try to do all of that without accidentally killing all of your allies in either local or online co-op.

The similarities to Magicka appear to be blindingly obvious, but as you'll see in the trailer below they might just be skin deep. Whatever the case may be, here's a brief and very colorful look at Nine Parchments:

Battle Chasers: Nightwar close up screenshot of combat

Even though its name leaves a lot to be desired, Battle Chasers: Nightwar is a rather interesting turn-based RPG inspired by oldschool console classics. What this means in gameplay terms is that you will spend a lot of your time wondering through dungeons filled with traps, puzzles and loot, building and advancing your own adventuring party, and naturally, following a "rich story driven by exploration".

The recently posted animated intro won't really tell you much about the gameplay, but it should give you a pretty damn good idea of the style and themes Battle Chasers: Nightwar is going for. Have a look, the art really is quite lovely:
