The First Tree is a third-person exploration game centered around two parallel stories: a fox trying to find her missing family, and a son trying to reconnect with his father in Alaska. While the two stories will be intertwined, you will only be guiding the fox on her rather strange journey to the source of all life.

Since this is a deeply atmospheric game, and one that isn't as cheerful as it appears on the surface, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer so you'll get a good idea of what to expect. Have a look, its quite the sight to behold:

While the reviews are generally positive, it is important to mention that The First Tree belongs to the "walking simulator" genre. In order words, there will be no puzzles to solve or enemies to beat down, just a whole bunch of story threads you'll need to connect and figure out throughout your journey. Its also a rather short game, totaling at around 4 hours, but thankfully the price represents that rather well. As for whether all of this is worth €7, that is up to you to decide.

If you would like to learn more about The First Tree, or just grab yourself a copy, you should head over to either Steam or the official website. And finally, here's a couple of lovely images to help set the mood:
