Vaporum is a newly released grid-based dungeon-crawler inspired by oldschool classics such as Dungeon Master, as well as the more recent Legend of Grimrock. The one big difference is that Vaporum only features one character, rather than a party of four. On one hand this makes the combat a lot less spammy and a lot more tactical, but on the other it limits the amount of useful items you can pick up throughout your journey, which could represent a bit of a problem for an exploration-focused RPG.

Whatever the case may be, its certainly an interesting idea, and if the most recent trailer is any indicator it appears to be one that has been executed quite well. But don't just take my word for it, have a look for yourself, especially if you're wondering what Vaporum is all about. Here's the video:

It is worth mentioning that Vaporum, much like the rest of the dungeon-crawler genre, is teeming with secrets to find and puzzles to solve. However, these little extras are often not telegraphed in any meaningful way, so if you do decide to play Vaporom make sure to search through some of the more obscure locations. You never know what wonders you might find concealed behind a fake wall!

If you would like to learn a little bit more about Vaporum, or just grab yourself a copy, you should head over to either Steam or the official website. And finally, here's a couple of images, just to set the mood:
