Frostpunk official artwork showing a giant city

Frostpunk is an upcoming city building game set in a frozen wasteland where humanity has been driven to the brink of extinction. In order to survive you will need to create vast and interconnected cities with the help of steam-powered technology, make difficult moral choices with no clear answers and serious consequences, and pretty much do everything you can in order to keep your citizens alive, no matter the cost!

If you're wondering what all of this looks like in-game, and what the moral choices are even all about, you'll find what you seek in the recently posted gameplay trailer down below. Its not very long, but it does showcase Frostpunk's rather massive potential. Have a look:

Nightmare Creatures 2017 official logo and artwork

The original Nightmare Creatures is a survival horror game released back in the ancient times of 1998 for PC, PlayStation and Nintendo 64. While I would to say its a timeless classic, I remember it being fairly mediocre even at the time. The combat was very satisfying, and the various creatures you got to beat down were quite interesting to behold, but there was a certain clunkiness to the whole thing that I simply couldn't get past.

With that in mind, I hope you now realize just how unexpected it is to hear that Nightmare Creatures is getting a modern remake, though maybe "modern" might be stretching it a bit too far. Rather than explain, allow me to share with you the recently posted teaser trailer. You'll quickly realize what I mean. Have a look:

Elderborn artwork and official logo

Despite the massive popularity of The Elder Scrolls series, and the somewhat cult following behind Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, there are basically no first person hack & slash games out there. It is exactly this little 'problem' that the developer Hyperstrange has decided to solve with the upcoming Elderborn - a first person hack & slash entirely focused on challenging melee combat.

Elderborn is still early in development, but if you would like a sneak peek at how its shaping up to be you'll find the recently posted demo video right below. Its a bit rough around the edges, and the FOV definitely needs work, but I must admit it does look quite interesting. Have a gander:

Rock of Ages 2 screenshot of the Isaac themed rock

[Update]: Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break has now rolled onto PC and consoles.

Rock of Ages 2 is a rather unique combination of a tower defense and "smash everything with a giant ball" game, with the end result being far more enjoyable than one would expect. What this means in gameplay terms is that you will spend one half of the match placing defenses in order to mess up your opponent's plans and force their ball off the map, and in the other half using your god-rock to crush a variety of 'historically accurate' enemies that appear to be lifted straight out of Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Since all of this has probably made you even more confused, allow me to share with you one of the most recent trailers. It should give you a pretty damn good idea of what Rock of Ages 2 is all about, and perhaps most importantly, just how unique and interesting it looks like! Have a gander:

Last Day of June artwork showing the two main characters

Last Day of June is a narrative driven adventure game that explores how one comes to terms with the loss of someone close to them. There is very little I can tell you without spoiling the whole experience, but let's just say that "What would I do to save the one I love?" is a question that comes up rather frequently.

Since I'm aware that explanation is woefully inadequate, allow me to instead share with you one of the teaser trailers. It will give you a pretty damn good idea of what Last Day of June is all about, and perhaps most importantly, how unique it actually looks. Have a gander, its well worth the two minutes:

Greedy Guns screenshot of a giant laser weapon

Greedy Guns is a colorful twin-stick shooter that will have you explore a large and interconnected 2D world, all the while mowing down hordes upon hordes of enemies that would love nothing more than to nibble on you. Its not exactly the most sophisticated or complex gameplay concept out there, but its one that has been proven to work time and time again, so hopefully the same applies here as well.

Trying to explain an action orientated shooter through words alone is a bit of a pointless task, however, so allow me to instead show you the recently posted trailer. It should give you a pretty damn good idea of just what to expect from Greedy Guns. Have a look:

Rite of ILK screenshot of a rather beautiful forest

The greatest challenges in co-op games do not come from the puzzles or monsters, but rather your fellow players as trying to coordinate difficult maneuvers often ends up feeling like herding cats. This is where the newly announced Rite of ILK steps in. You'll still be exploring and puzzling your way through a variety of locations, but you will have to do so while literally tied to the other player by a rope!

Besides ensuring that both players are on the same page, the rope will also serve as one of the main gameplay mechanics in Rite of ILK, often acting as both a hazard and as a way to solve tricky challenges. If you're wondering what this looks like in gameplay terms, I would suggest checking checking out the recently posted announcement trailer right below. Have a look, its quite interesting:

Fe screenshot of the purple forest at dusk

Given how many absolutely enormous franchises they have under their wing I certainly did not expect EA to announce that they are publishing a small indie game, but that's exactly what they're doing with Fe. The details are still in short supply, but what I can tell you is that Fe will be an adventure/exploration game set amidst a rather beautiful Nordic forest full of colorful critters and unseen dangers. In order to bring the forest back to its former glory you will need to unravel the mysteries of the Silent Ones, run, jump and glide from location to location, as well as use stealth and agility to escape your hungry pursuers.

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in gameplay terms, wonder no more as gamescom 2017 has brought with it a brief yet detailed trailer showcasing everything Fe has to offer. Have a look, its quite a sight to behold:

Screenshot of strange alien ruins from Moons of Madness

Like the vast majority of horror games these days, Moons of Madness is a first-person psychological horror inspired by Lovecraft's specific brand of cosmic monstrosities. Where things start getting interesting, however, is in the setting! Instead of the usual dark crypt or decrepit castle, Moons of Madness takes place on a scientific outpost on the planet Mars.

If you're wondering how exactly this setting would work in a horror game, and more importantly what Moons of Madness even looks like, you'll find your answers in one of the most recent trailers down below. Have a look, its quite intriguing:

City of Brass screenshot of an approaching skeleton

City of Brass is a challenging first-person roguelike themed after the Arabian Nights. In other words, you will be spending most of your time looking for treasure, exploring opulent cities and derelict ruins, fighting against a variety of mythological creatures, and naturally, trying your damnest to not die a brutal and disappointing death.

While its not yet ready for release, you can get an idea of what City of Brass is going to look and play like via the recently posted gameplay trailer down below. Its sadly not very long, but it should suffice for now. Have a look:
