[Update]: Slay the Princess has now arrived, and I'm pleased to say it's looking quite good!
Following in the footsteps of something like The Stanley Parable, Slay the Princess is an upcoming horror-adventure where you simply have to slay the princess in order to save the world. What follows next is a series of increasingly bizarre events, time loops and branching paths that greatly affect how the whole story unfolds... as well as how long you get to live!
Since there is no easy way to describe all of this through words alone, allow me to share with you the teaser trailer. It probably won't make you any less confused, but it'll at least give you a good impression of the sort of atmosphere Slay the Princess is going for. Have a little peek:

[Update]: Cult of the Lamb's first major update has added post-game progression with revamped bosses, new abilities and items.
If you're in the mood for something a little bit out of the ordinary, you might want to check out the recently released Cult of the Lamb. It's an action roguelike where you'll have to slowly grow your cult by venturing across the world in search of resources to collect and non-believers to smite, building new structures and welcoming new members into the fold, and naturally, conducting dark rituals in order to appease an eldritch god.
Since all of that sounds like complete and utter nonsense, allow me to share with you the gameplay overview trailer. It'll give you a pretty good idea of just what Cult of the Lamb is trying to do. Have a peek:

[Update]: Spark the Electric Jester 3 has now made its way onto Steam alongside a mostly positive reception.
If the recent previews for Sonic Frontiers have left you disappointed, you might want to keep an eye on the upcoming Spark the Electric Jester 3 as it shows a great deal of potential. It's essentially a fast paced action-platformer heavily inspired by the some of the better 3D Sonic games like Sonic Adventure.
Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the recently posted gameplay trailer. It should give you a pretty darn good idea of just what Spark the Electric Jester 3 is going for and how close it really is to the classic 3D Sonic games. Have a gander:

[Update #2]: Project Zomboid's Update 42 will add basements and significantly expand the map vertically.
[Update]: Project Zomboid's Build 42 update is aiming to massively expand the world map.
While work still continues on the massive update that will finally bring in NPCs, the Project Zomboid team has now unleashed a smaller patch filled with all sorts of quality of life improvements and changes. As such, there's no big addition to highlight, but rather scores upon scores of minor yet highly useful tweaks.
First and foremost, zombies should no longer spawn in already explored closed rooms or in the player's base, which should make base-building a lot less hectic affair. Similarly, players should no longer spawn in the middle of a zombie rave and get eaten before being able to even move a centimeter. I don't think I need to explain why that change was needed.

If you're a fan of shooting, Orks, shooting Orks and Orks shooting at other Orks, then the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef might be right up your alley. It's essentially a Metal Slug inspired run & gun platformer that will task you will unleashing your Waaagh! across a variety of over-the-top levels while spouting utter gibberish that can only make sense to an Ork.
Since this is one of those games where trying to explain things through words alone is a pointless venture, allow me to share with you one of the trailers. It should clue you in quite quickly on just what Shootas, Blood & Teef is really all about. Have a gander:

[Update]: Dead Cells has now added a Boss Rush mode with souped-up enemies and a bunch of fancy rewards.
Continuing with the seemingly never-ending stream of free patches, the Dead Cells team has now unleashed the "Enter the Panchaku" update. The star attraction, as the name might suggest, is the mighty panchaku - two frying pans tied together with a piece of string, which are not only great for carving your way through enemies, but they can even reflect bombs and projectiles in the middle of the combo!
Keeping on with the food theme, the update has also spiced up the weapons and skills with some much-needed balance tweaks. Weapons like the Smoke Bomb and Grappling Hook have received scaling nerfs, the Gilded Yumi has been reworked in order to be more functional in just about every respect, and the list goes on for a while.
After a year of Epic exclusivity, indie Metroidvania Axiom Verge 2 is coming to Steam on August 11th

[Update]: Axiom Verge 2 has landed onto Steam alongside mostly positive reviews.
After spending a fair bit of time on the Epic Game Store, the PC version of Axiom Verge 2 will soon be landing onto Steam as well. And I really do mean soon, as Axiom Verge 2 will be launching next week, on August 11th!
While Axiom Verge 2 is an exploration focused Metroidvania just like its predecessor, the two games are actually quite different. Axiom Verge 2 has a far greater focus on storytelling and close quarters combat encounters, rather than the usual long ranged firefights. So if you're a fan of the original and itching to dive into a new adventure, you might want to do a little bit of research on it before diving in, just to make sure you don't end up being disappointed with the new direction.

[Update]: Vampire Survivors has now been unleashed from Early Access alongside a sizable content update.
While every update has added at least a secret or two to uncover, the freshly released "The Not One" patch is quite special in that it's almost entirely made out of secrets! However, instead of it being one long guessing game (or one short trip to the wiki), the update has also added the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane - a relic located in The Bone Zone that offers you hints on how to find all of the game's secrets!
If you're curious what these secrets might look like, and if you're in the mood for some psychedelic imagery, you'll find what you seek in the trailer below. Have a gander:

The original McPixel was a fun little point & click adventure where all semblance of sense and logic was thrown out of the window from a speeding train. As such, it should come as little surprise to hear that McPixel's creator has decided to skip straight through McPixel 2 and instead announce McPixel 3. After all, if it has a bigger number, it must be better!
Since words alone aren't the best at trying to describe the sheer insanity of McPixel and its sequel, allow me to share with you the announcement trailer. It should give you a pretty good idea of what sort of ride you're getting yourself on. Have a look:

Much like FTL that came before it, Into the Breach launched as a short yet highly satisfying experience. Even if the Subset Games team never added anything else to it and simply moved onto their next game, Into the Breach would've still been remembered fondly due to how easy it is to pick up and how deliciously tricky it can get towards the end.
So you can imagine my surprise when over four years after its original launch Into the Breach just suddenly got a chunky new update! The Advanced Edition brings with it a whole host of new gameplay options thanks to 5 new squads, 4 new pilots and 39 new weapons & equipment, along with 10 new enemies and 10 new boss battles.
