After two expansions and many years of updates, the Crypt of the NecroDancer team is now finally moving onto a brand new game. They're not going all that far, however, as the recently announced Rift of the NecroDancer will still be all about the music!
Instead of delving through dungeons and smashing spooky skeletons to the beat of the soundtrack, Rift of the NecroDancer will task you with saving the world through rhythm game style battles, lengthy boss fights and goofy mini games. The exact details are still few and far between, but all of these look like they will be separate game modes, so you'll be able to pick and choose the exact flavors of gameplay you enjoy.

[Update]: Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord has added Steam Workshop mod support a week ahead of launch.
Two years and many updates later, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord is now slowly getting ready to make the big step forward and finally release from Early Access. According to the newest developer update, the launch version of Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord will be landing onto PC, PlayStation and Xbox this October 25th, 2022.
No additional details have been revealed just yet, but I can only imagine that the big release will be accompanied by an equally big update. I certainly hope so anyway, because even though Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord is an enjoyable game, it's also quite rough around the edges and in dire need of some polishing along with quality-of-life improvements.

[Update]: Slime Rancher 2 has now landed into Early Access, and so far things are looking quite good!
If you've blazed through everything Slime Rancher has to offer and you're now left itching for more cutesy slimes to throw around, you'll be happy to hear that the sequel is nearly upon us! According to the latest developer update, Slime Rancher 2 will be landing onto Steam this September 22th, 2022.
Much like its predecessor, Slime Rancher 2 will be starting off as an Early Access title and working upwards from there. While plans can (and most likely will) change over time, the current goal is for Slime Rancher 2 to spend around 18 months in Early Access in order to get everything polished up and ready for prime time.

If you're a fan of the new age of Souls-like games that combine the combat elements of Dark Souls with Metroidvania style exploration, you might want to keep an eye on the upcoming Moonscars. It's a 2D action-adventure that will have you forge your own path through a dreary and non-linear world, master new abilities that will help you open up additional routes and shortcuts, and naturally, slash, parry and dodge your way through numerous tricky encounters.
What all of this looks like in action, as well as what the story might be about, that you can find out through the recently posted teaser below. Have a gander:

After spending about a year in Early Access, the co-op focused deckbuilding roguelike Across the Obelisk has now been unleashed alongside a sizable update. Version 1.0 brings with it a revamp of the perk system, an assortment of new enemies to fight and a new biome to explore, as well as the usual batch of quality of life improvements and fixes.
What some of this looks like in action, as well as what the gameplay is even all about, that you can find out through the freshly posted launch trailer below. Have a gander:

While its updates may be slow, Ultrakill more than makes up for it with sheer quality. Nowhere is this more apparent than with the freshly launched Act 2: Imperfect Hatred as it brings with it two sizable new layers to explore, a variety of quality of life improvements and balance changes (sorry whiplash fans), as well as some downright awesome new bosses to square off against.
There is unfortunately no preview showing off the new levels in action, but you can get a pretty good idea of the direction the story is heading in through the release trailer below. Have a gander:

Following in the footsteps of its predecessor Deliver Us The Moon, the upcoming Deliver Us Mars is an atmospheric sci-fi adventure about a high-stakes mission to recover lost colony ships on the Red Planet. Along the way you'll need to overcome a variety of physical challenges and hostile environments, solve the occasional puzzle to keep the brain juices flowing, and unsurprisingly, try to figure out why in the world someone would steal a bunch of colony ships in a universe where humanity is nearing extinction!
If that sounds like the type of adventure you'd love to embark on, I'm afraid I have a bit of bad news to deliver. Instead of launching this September as previously announced, Deliver Us Mars has now been pushed back to February 2nd, 2023.

If you're in the mood for running extremely fast and slamming face-first into heavily armored robots, you might want to give the freshly released Spark the Electric Jester 3 a bit of your time. To put it quite bluntly, it's a Sonic Adventure inspired action-platformer that offers pretty much exactly what you would expect in terms of gameplay - fast paced movement across death-defying drops, plenty of exploration, and the occasional bout of combat to help keep things from slowing down too much.
Since trying to convey a sense of speed through words alone is a bit of a wasted effort, allow me to share with you one of the recent trailers. It should give you a pretty solid idea of what Spark the Electric Jester 3 is going for and what it actually plays like. Have a gander:
