Guild Wars 2's October 4th update will empower old specializations and rebalance classes for PvP

[Update #2]: Guild Wars 2's highly popular Shadow of the Mad King event is returning on October 18th.

[Update]: The October update has now arrived alongside a couple of extra tweaks.

As a part of the August 23rd update, Guild Wars 2 released a massive array of changes to equalize the damage potential between power (direct damage) and condition (damage over time) builds and make it so every class has access to at least one of each build. In order to help them keep up with more modern specializations, the update also dished out some nifty buffs for Reapers, Daredevils, Deadeyes, Scrappers, and the list goes on.

The upcoming October 4th update will be a continuation of these efforts, though mostly on the PvP side of things. First and foremost, the Torment condition is getting some much-needed love. Expect to see increased damage and scaling against moving opponents, as well as reduced damage and scaling against stationary opponents. Since you pretty much never want to stand still, especially not in PvP, this should give Torment-based builds a sizable damage increase.

It has done so alongside the sizable Enhanced Edition update which brings with it a a wide array of fixes and quality of live improvements, along with the ability to play through the entire game with a controller on PC if you so wish.

PC players can also look forward to being able to customize their character's appearance by recoloring and reforging their armor, wasting less time shuffling through their inventory thanks to the new search function, as well as diving deep into the stats behind each battle with the enhanced combat log. [Update]: Following Stadia's shutdown, its first exclusive game Gylt is now heading to other platforms.

According to an announcement that came so suddenly not even the employees knew about it, Google is shutting down their game streaming service Stadia. The servers will be going down on January 18th, 2023, so even if you're halfway through a lengthy RPG you should have more than enough time to wrap things up.

Most importantly, all Stadia hardware purchases made through the Google Store, and all game and add-on content purchases made through the Stadia store will be refunded. The majority of these refunds will be completed by mid-January, though don't be too surprised if it takes a while longer for everything to get finalized.

Highly ambitious VR, physics-based action game Bonelab is launching on September 29th

Bonelab, indie VR sandbox action game, official artwork

[Update]: Bonelab has now arrived, and just as expected, it's as janky as it's fascinating.

Much like its predecessor Boneworks, the upcoming Bonelab is a VR, physics-based action game featuring levels filled with all sorts of doodads for you to mess around with, or even utilize in combat. As you would expect from a 'sequel', Bonelab will bring with it a greatly improved physics system, a larger variety of weapons and toys to chuck at enemies, as well as a brand new batch of arenas, obstacles courses and sandboxes to experiment with.

The most exciting feature by far is the ability to import a custom avatar in order to play through the game looking however you want... with the physical stats and viewpoint to match! As such, you can transform yourself into everything from an extremely small, fast and nimble character to someone so massive and bulky they could probably knock out Executioner Smough from Dark Souls without breaking a sweat.
