Boneworks update has added the much-requested save spots and a new Brawl mode

[Update]: Bonelab, Boneworks' highly ambitious successor, is launching on September 29th.
While Boneworks is one of the better VR games currently available, its launch version had a rather major flaw - no manual saves. That wouldn't be too big of a deal if the levels were fairly short, but some of the later ones could take upwards of an hour to complete on your first attempt, which is just way too much time to go without any sort of checkpoint.
As such, I'm pleased to say that Boneworks has now finally added save spots throughout the levels. They will save any items you have on your person, as well as any items you chucked into the handy savespot bins, so you'll always be able to continue right from where you left off. A simple feature, but a highly welcome one regardless!

[Update #2]: December 1, 2020 has now arrived, and with it Empire of Sin has been unleashed!
[Update]: Empire of Sin has now been pinned for a December 1, 2020 release date.
Empire of Sin, Romero Games' seedy turn-based strategy game set in 1920s Chicago, was originally supposed to arrive in spring of 2020 for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. However, according to the latest developer update, it has now joined the ever-increasing list of games that have been pushed back until later this year. In Empire of Sin's case, it has been delayed until fall.
"As any good bootlegger knows, good liquor can't be rushed and the same goes for game development," reads the brief update. "This is why we have decided to move the release of Empire of Sin to fall 2020. We appreciate all your support so far, and trust that you understand why choosing quality over speed is important. After all, everyone knows you gotta stay sharp to make it in Chicago."
Capcom has just released the much-anticipated netcode update for Street Fighter V
- By Ash
- in News
Despite not really keeping an eye on the fighting game community, even I've heard about the numerous complaints surrounding Street Fighter V's netcode. The most prominent of these issues is the artificial lag that can sometimes occur between two players, eventually resulting in one-sided roll-backs that completely destroy any semblance of timing and precision for the player in question.
However, in a bit of a surprising twist of fate, a community member called Altimor ended up releasing a patch that more or less addressed the entire issue. Naturally, the fan-made patch brought in some fresh new problems, but after years of inaction from Capcom, the community was seemingly more than willing to bear them if it resulted in a smoother experience overall.

After a little bit of a wait, Total War: Three Kingdom's biggest DLC so far, Mandate of Heaven, has now made its way to both macOS and Linux. It brings with it over 40 new combat units to fill out your armies, six new warlords with their own unique mechanics, as well as origin stories for some of the most famous characters in the time period.
It's also worth mentioning that unlike the previous DLC, the Mandate of Heaven campaign will seamlessly transition into the main campaign. The various important events, as well as the rise of brand new factions, will all unfold as you progress through the years. So while the campaign map is unlikely to look the same by the end, you should still be able to experience everything Three Kingdoms has to offer.
Following the highly successful teaser, THQ Nordic is now officially working on the Gothic 1 Remake

[Update]: A few years later, THQ Nordic has now shared a new and atmospheric look at the greatly revamped Gothic 1 Remake.
THQ Nordic recently released a playable teaser for a potential Gothic 1 remake, all in order to judge the community's reaction and see whether there's any actual interest. They didn't have to wait for too long in order to figure out the answer to that question, however, as even on the very first day it became very obvious that the Gothic community is more than eager to re-experience Gothic 1!
According to THQ Nordic's stats, over 180,000 players checked out the playable teaser, while those that filled out the optional survey were overwhelmingly (94,8%) in favor of the remake. As such, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that THQ Nordic has now officially announced that the Gothic Remake has been greenlit!
