[Update #2]: Overwatch 2 devs have detailed the upcoming Apex Legends inspired ping system.

[Update]: Overwatch 2's PvP Closed Beta has now been pinned for April 26th, 2022.

While its release date is still shrouded in mystery, the good news is that Overwatch 2 will be heading into Closed Beta at some point in late April. So if you would like to dive in yourself and see just what Blizzard has cooked up, make sure to sign up over at the official website for a chance at a beta key.

Before you do so, it's also worth mentioning that Blizzard has now shared the minimum and recommended PC system specs for the Overwatch 2 beta. Here's what sort of rig you'll need in order to run it without any issues:

Minimum Specifications

Operating System: Windows® 7 / Windows® 8 / Windows® 10 64-bit (latest Service Pack)
Processor: Intel Core i3 or AMD Phenom X3 8650
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 600 series, AMD Radeon HD 7000 series
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Storage: 50 GB available hard drive space

Recommended Specifications

Operating System: Windows® 10 64-bit (latest Service Pack)
Processor: Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 5
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD R9 380
Memory: 8 GB RAM

Besides the range in CPU power between the minimum and recommended specs being remarkably large, nothing here is really out of the ordinary. So if you're able to play the current version of Overwatch without too much trouble, chances are good the Overwatch 2 beta will be just as smooth of an experience.

As a final note, I'll leave you with two of the hero rework trailers, just as a little teaser of what the beta will bring to the table. Have a gander, starting with the Bastion rework and ending with the Sombra one:
