Have a Nice Death is an upcoming action-roguelike starring a very disgruntled Grim Reaper

[Update]: Have a Nice Death has now landed into Early Access, and so far it's looking quite solid.
In stark contrast to his usual portrayal, the Grim Reaper in the upcoming action-roguelike Have a Nice Death is a chronically disgruntled grandpa that just wants to take a break for once in eternity. Unfortunately for him, the world's full of previous employees that have forgotten who's at the top of the food chain, thus forcing poor ol' Death to venture out into the unknown to teach them all a lesson with the business end of his scythe.
What all of this nonsense means in actual gameplay, however, is that you'll get to hack and slash your way through legions of enemies across multiple worlds, all culminating in an assortment of big bad boss fights. Should you die somewhere along the way, there's no cause for concern as you have plenty of connections in the underworld! So instead of simply fading away, you'll pop right back in your office alongside new abilities and upgrades to help spice up your next playthrough.
Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is an action-RPG take on the original JRPG classic

[Update]: Stranger of Paradise has now arrived, and I'm afraid to say it's somewhat of a mixed bag.
If you're interested in a bit of a different take on Final Fantasy, you might want to pay attention to the upcoming Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. It's essentially an alternate-universe retelling of the original Final Fantasy story, but instead of controlling a group of characters in turn-based battles, Stranger of Paradise will have you personally duke it out in close-quarters action-RPG combat.
As you might imagine given Team Ninja's involvement, this means you'll have plenty of different moves and combos to play around with, an assortment of challenging enemies that will require some getting used to, and in classic Final Fantasy fashion, HP and MP potions to help tip the scales should things start going bad. Besides the potions themselves, there will also be a whole bunch of items and gear to collect, each of which will grant you increasingly stronger benefits the more pieces of a set you collect.
Young Souls is an upcoming and rather stylish co-op focused beat'em up RPG

[Update]: Young Souls has now arrived, and outside of some technical troubles it's looking pretty solid.
If you're in the mood for kicking back and then kicking your way through scores upon scores of goblins beat'em up style, you might want to check out the upcoming Young Souls. It's essentially a side-scrolling brawler mixed with an action RPG, with all of the features you might expect from a hybrid of the two genres.
In other words there's plenty of 2.5D levels to explore, enemies and bosses to clobber over the head with combo moves, as well as weapons, armor and accessories to equip in order to customize your playstyle. And just to help spice things up, Young Souls is fully playable in either singleplayer or shared-screen co-op, so definitely bring a friend along if you're planning to dive in.
PlatinumGames' co-op action RPG Babylon's Fall has now arrived alongside a lukewarm reception

[Update #2]: I'm afraid I have some bad news. Babylon's Fall will be closing down its doors in February 2023.
[Update]: Seemingly spooked by Babylon's Fall's rough launch, Square Enix has now pushed back their action-adventure Forspoken to October 11, 2022.
In an announcement that I must admit has come as a complete surprise to me, PlatinumGames' newest action-RPG Babylon's Fall has now been unleashed onto PC and PlayStation. As you might imagine given the studio, Babylon's Fall is all about over-the-top action and carving your way through hordes upon hordes of enemies, with the added twist being that you can play it in either singleplayer or co-op with up to three other players.
What this looks like in action, that you can get a glimpse of through the freshly posted launch trailer. Have a peek:
Valheim update has spruced up the Mountains biome with new enemies, resources and mini-dungeons

- in News
While the original roadmap has long since been scrapped, the Valheim devs have not given up on the ideas they laid out back then. As such, the freshly released update brings with it many of the features that once belonged to the "Cult of the Wolf" section, including brand new instanced mini-dungeons by the name of Frost Caves.
The Frost Caves are similar to the Burial Chambers and Sunken Crypts that came before, and much like them offer you a chance to square off against new enemies, gather new resources, as well as collect new materials. Naturally, all of this will be going towards crafting a fancy new armor and weapon set!

[Update]: After over a year of requests, Battlefield 2042's Update 3.2 will finally bring back Classes.
Battlefield 2042 arrived a couple of months ago, and unfortunately it did so alongside a variety of bugs, balance problems, and serious map design issues. While updates have addressed at least addressed some of the former, the map design unfortunately still remains one of Battlefield 2042's biggest sore spots.
Thankfully it's not all bad news, because according to the recent developer update it looks that DICE is currently putting in a serious amount of effort into improving the maps across the board. So in order to let everyone know what's happening, DICE have now detailed the five major map issues they have detected and how they're planning to solve them. Here's a brief rundown:
