Final Fantasy 14 Stormblood's Red Mage screenshot

Final Fantasy 14's Stormblood expansion is poised to bring with it an entire game's worth of new content, a level cap increase, new raids and dungeons, a reworked battle and inventory system, and the list goes on for quite a while. But perhaps most importantly of all, at least as far as gameplay is concerned, are the new and extremely flashy jobs (read classes): Red Mage and Samurai.

In order to prepare everyone for what is to come the developers have released the preliminary patch notes for Stormblood... and they are ridiculously massive! I would usually go through all of them and pick out a couple to showcase the update's direction, but there are simply far too many changes to even attempt such a thing. As such, if you're interested in all of the details and you have plenty of coffee at hand, you'll find what you seek at the official website.

King of Fighters XIV screenshot of an awesome introduction

[Update]: King of Fighters XV will be launching onto PC and consoles in early 2022.

After being available on the PS4 for quite a while now King of Fighters XIV has finally made its way to Steam as well. Unfortunately, the developers have chosen the worst possible release date as they are currently competing with both Tekken 7 and Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, both of which have received overwhelmingly positive reviews.

Competitors aside, if you're wondering what exactly the PC version of King of Fighters XIV brings to the table you'll find the recently posted launch trailer right below. It should give you a pretty good idea of just what kind of fighting game you're getting into. Have a look:

OpenIV is an incredibly powerful and popular modding tool that was used to create mods for the Grand Theft Auto series for nearly a decade now. Unfortunately, it would appear that its long reign has now finally ended as Take-Two Interactive has sent the developers a very serious (and very poorly written) cease and desist letter.

The lead developer behind OpenIV, GooD-NTS, released a brief statement explaining the whole situation. Long story short, there is no way a couple of modders can fight a giant company even though they believe the accusations leveled against them are baseless, so OpenIV sadly has to go. Fortnite screenshot of the monsters

If you've ever built a gigantic fort in Minecraft and then wished the monsters were actually capable of assaulting it, you might want to pay attention to the upcoming Fortnite as it embodies exactly that concept. You need to scavenge for materials and weapons, craft a variety of traps and fortifications, and then attempt to survive absolutely massive waves of monsters that would love nothing more than to tear all of your toys apart.

Rather than waste your time by explain all of this in detail, allow me to instead share the recently posted gameplay trailer. It goes over pretty much everything Fortnite has to offer, from the random run & gun gameplay to the process of building your very own Fort Kickass. Have a look, its well worth the few minutes:

Europa Universalis IV and Hearts of Iron IV DLC artwork

In a bit of a strange move Paradox has just released two DLC packs for two of their most prominent grand strategy games. Europa Universalis IV has received Third Rome, a new "immersion pack" that adds a bunch of gameplay features and content for the Russian Empire, while Hearts of Iron IV has received Death or Dishonor, a new country pack that brings with it Romania, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, and Yugoslavia.

Individually each pack will set you back $10, but if you're a massive fan of grand strategy games and would like to grab both they can also be bought a slight discount, $18 to be specific. If you're wondering what exactly each of the packs bring to the table, here are their recently posted trailers and lists of features, starting with Hearts of Iron IV:

Conan Exiles expansion screenshot of a Mammoth hunt

As I've mentioned in my review, Conan Exiles is an ambitious project with a lot of potential behind it, but as it stands right now there just isn't enough meat to it. Thankfully, that might be changing in the near future as Funcom has just announced a massive free expansion.

The Xbox One version will arrive on August 16th, bringing with it the currently unnamed expansion that will increase the map by 50% and allow us to journey into the far North. If you're wondering what this might look like, wonder no more as Funcom has released a brief teaser trailer showcasing the new additions and locations. Have a look:

Dauntless screenshot of a man with a giant hammer fighting a dinosaur

While you can probably guess all of this from its inspiration alone, Dauntless is an upcoming RPG that's all about hunting down giant monsters with ridiculous weaponry, carving said monsters up, and then using their spikiest body parts to create even more ridiculous weaponry. There will obviously be plenty of features that set it apart from Monster Hunter, but the basic premise is pretty much the same.

If this sounds like something you would love to play, you're in luck as the first public alpha has just been announced. While the final version of Dauntless will be free-to-play, those that pre-order the Founder's Pack (at a rather pricey $80) will get early alpha access on August 18th. Whether this is worth it or not, that I'll leave for you to decide, but if you're wondering what the Founder's Pack even contains you will find what you seek over at the official FAQ.

Hitman screenshot from Marakesh

After being available on PC and Linux for quite a while Hitman is now just about ready to make its transition to Mac as well. While Hitman was originally released in six episodes the Mac version will bundle all of them together into one package for the June 20th release date, so don't worry about the whole "episodic" thing as you're getting the full game.

As with the vast majority of AAA ports these days the Mac version of Hitman has not been handled by the developers themselves, but rather by Feral Interactive who have been quite busy these past few months. If the name doesn't ring a bell, you might know them from their work on the Mac and Linux versions of Total War: Warhammer, Dawn of War 3, XCOM 2, Tomb Raider, and so forth.

Destiny 2 official artwork

Ever since its original announcement Destiny 2 was pinned for a September 8th release date for both PC and consoles. However, according to the recent E3 presentation that is no longer the case. The console versions of Destiny 2 will be ready to launch on September 6th, while the PC version is scheduled for October 24th.

Additionally, there will be two beta periods for everyone to check out what Destiny 2 has to offer. Those that pre-order a PS4 version will be able to gain early beta access on July 18th, while the Xbox One pre-orders will get their turn on July 19th. After that the public beta test will begin on July 21st, though it will only last until July 23rd. The PC beta is planned for late August, though there is no specific date set right now.

Overwatch Horizon Lunar Colony map screenshot of the telescope

After spending quite a bit of time on the PTR it would appear that the Horizon Lunar Colony map is soon going to be ready for the live servers as well. According to the official Twitter the new map and its accompanying balance changes will be arriving on June 20th.

As for the balance changes, they are a bit... questionable. McCree and Reaper are getting some much needed buffs which is great, but Roadhog is getting reworked so heavily that both his functionality and playstyle are going to change drastically, and I'm not sure either of those is going to be for the better. You can find the full patch notes over at the Blizzard website, but for now here are all of the hero changes:
