Much like Doom, the recent Wolfenstein reboot brought with it a fresh new take on the standard FPS formula. Instead of boring realism and overly serious storylines Wolfenstein: The New Order was all about fast-paced action, ridiculous weaponry, and tons of easily-hateable enemies to mow down. As such, it probably shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that Bethesda has announced a brand new sequel during this year's E3.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus will send you to Nazi-controlled America in order to do exactly as you might expect: obliterate everything in your path with an arsenal of increasingly overpowered weaponry. There will obviously be some extra features in there somewhere, but the basic idea of shooting hordes of super-Nazis in the face is good enough on its own to carry a shooter as ridiculous as Wolfenstein.

There is very little concrete information available right now, especially when it comes to the type of weapons you'll use and the enemies you'll use them on, but you can find a few more tidbits over at the official website. As for the release date, Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus will be coming this October 27th for the PC and consoles. And as a final note, here's the recently posted and rather bizarre reveal trailer:
