[Update #2]: A few years later, Dungeons 4 has now been announced alongside a 2023 release date.

[Update]: Dungeons 3 has now been unleashed, and so far it's looking quite solid!

Despite being incredibly old the original Dungeon Keeper and its sequel are still highly enjoyable games with a variety of ways to play them. Given their popularity and critical acclaim you would expect Steam to be filled with all sorts of games trying to recreate and improve upon the formula, but in reality there's only a couple of them that have managed to come even close.

One of these series is the appropriately named Dungeons, which while somewhat flawed has managed to successfully replicate the Dungeon Keeper gameplay and charm. As such, I'm glad to say that after the positively received Dungeons 2 we will soon be getting a brand new sequel through the rather plainly named Dungeons 3!

The details are still a bit shaky, but from what is known so far I can tell you that Dungeons 3 will feature the biggest maps the series has seen so far, as well as a fully reworked overworld RTS mode. There will a new evil warlord and minions to mess around with, around 20 campaign missions, plenty of randomly generated levels, and perhaps most importantly, a brand new co-op mode for two players.

Dungeons 3 will be coming for PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, and Xbox One this Fall, though no specific date has been given just yet. If you would like to learn a little bit more I would suggest going to Steam, though do keep in mind that information is currently in short supply. And finally, allow me to leave you with the recently posted gameplay trailer. Enjoy!
