Valorant artwork for the Agent Skye

[Update]: Valorant update has fixed some of the common complaints about the Icebox map.

When Update 1.11 arrived a little while ago, it brought with it a brand new Agent by the name of Skye, numerous balance changes, the introduction of the Icebox map to competitive play, and a whole bunch of quality of life improvements. Unfortunately for everyone involved, the update also broke the entirety of Valorant.

On the funnier side of things you had bugs like Omen's smoke displaying Sage's texture files for some bizarre reason, while on the less fun side of things you had bugs that caused performance problems and malfunctioning abilities, both of which made regular gameplay a bit of a nightmare. With all of that in mind, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to hear that Riot Games quickly pulled the patch back.

Little Hope artwork showing off a graveyard, crow and the logo

Much like Supermassive's previous games Until Dawn and Man of Medan, Little Hope is a highly interactive story where you singlehandedly guide the fate of all the various characters. Depending on your actions you can escape the endless horrors with the full squad intact, watch as the group slowly dwindles into nothingness over the course of the campaign, or perhaps something in between.

As for the story itself, Little Hope brings with it a fairly simple premise. Four college students and their professor are stranded in the abandoned town of Little Hope where they're constantly haunted by visions of the past. From there you'll need to figure out what in the world is happening, how you can solve the problem, and hopefully, how you can make it out in one piece!

Dota 2 artwork for Diretide 2020 event

[Update]: Dota 2 has added a new hero called Hoodwink and new abilities for literally everyone!

As it turns out, even Valve's patience has a limit! After watching players shout "つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Give DIRETIDE" for about seven years at this point, Valve has now finally brought back the popular Halloween event.

Much like before, Diretide is all about fighting against your fellow players in 5v5 matches, with the sole purpose being to collect as much candy as humanly possible. A truly noble goal, I'm sure you'll agree! The catch is that Roshan is also a fan of candy, so you're going to need to appease him or get rid of your candy if you want to stay alive... or you can just use the distraction and really push the enemy while they're off balance!

Far Cry 6 official artwork and logo

[Update]: Far Cry 6 has now arrived onto PC and consoles with a few new twists on the age-old Ubisoft formula.

If you were hoping to get your hands on Far Cry 6 this February, I'm afraid I bring some bad news. Due to the pandemic messing everything up, Ubisoft has now officially delayed Far Cry 6. Not only that, but no new release date has been announced just yet, so it's quite possible Far Cry 6 will only appear in late 2021.

"While we know you are all anxious to get your hands on Far Cry 6, we want to let you know that we've been given more time to allow us to make this the game you aspire to play while focusing on the well-being of our teams in this unprecedented global context," explains the brief update. "Our teams around the world are working in the studios and from their homes to pour their passion and creativity into making an unforgettable game - one we hope you will love."

Watch Dogs Legion official artwork and logo

[Update]: Watch Dogs: Legion's multiplayer update has been delayed until 2021.

If you're a fan of messing around with open world games and causing as much chaos as humanly possible, you'll be happy to hear that Ubisoft's Watch Dogs Legion has now been unleashed onto PC and consoles. The key difference between Legion and the previous Watch Dogs games is that there is no main protagonist. You can play as anyone, be that a highly skilled acrobat that moonlights as a hacker, or even a sweet old lady that can barely jump, let alone fistfight her way through a horde of terrorists.

As for what exactly all of this nonsense might look like in actual gameplay, that you can find out through two of the recent trailers. Have a gander, starting with the launch trailer:

[Update]: Valorant's Update 1.11 has returned, though this time around without the gamebreaking bugs.

As a part of the recent Update 1.11, Valorant added a brand new agent by the name of Skye, as well as a whole bunch of really interesting balance changes and quality of life improvements. Unfortunately for everyone involved, the update also arrived alongside an assortment of gamebreaking bugs and issues.

If you're curious just how gamebreaking we're talking about here, let's just say that simply standing within Omen's smoke field would completely blind you as your screen would be entirely filled with Sage's texture files. There was also a bunch of problems with abilities not working properly, most notably Omen's blind and Brimstone's smokes, so it's no wonder that Riot quickly decided to pull the update back.

[Update #2]: Apex Legends has now landed onto Steam alongside the massive Season 7 update, though not without major problems.

[Update]: Respawn has detailed all of the Season 7 balance changes and additions.

The upcoming Season 7 update will be one of the biggest Apex Legends has ever seen. Not only will it add the beautiful floating city of Olympus as a new map, but there will also be a new squad-based transport vehicle called the Trident, a new gravity-bending legend by the name of Horizon, the very first guild/club system, as well as whole bunch of balance changes and cosmetics. It really is going to be a big update!

If you're curious what some of this might look like in action, most notably the new Olympus map and Trident transport, then you might want to check out two of the recent trailers. The first is an animated one showing off Horizon's personality and some of the story, while the second one is all about the actual gameplay and the locations you'll be able to visit throughout Olympus. Have a gander, both are pretty fun:

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands artwork for the Bastion zone

[Update #2]: The Shadowlands expansion has now gone live without any notable problems!

[Update]: World of Warcraft will soon start issuing bans for multiboxing and automated gameplay.

After seeing the beta plagued with far too many bugs and random problems, Blizzard chose to delay World of Warcraft's Shadowlands expansion in order to give the team enough time to get everything polished up and ready to go. With that in mind, you'll be happy to hear that they appear to be nearly finished as the Shadowlands expansion will be officially launching at 3pm PST on November 23, or 12am CET on November 24 for us in Europe.

"Since we first told you about our decision to delay, we’ve used the time to further polish the expansion and shore up the endgame, including overhauling the combat and rewards in the Maw, and reworking the Covenant systems to make your choice more immediately impactful and have clearer long-term goals," reads the brief update. "Now the team is in a great position to get things the rest of the way to the finish line before November 23—and as always, we’re committed to working with you to improve the game for as long as you’re out there playing it."

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice screenshot of the new GOTY outfit

Quite a long time has gone by since Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice first launched, but I'm happy to say that FromSoftware has now returned with a major new update in tow! The update brings with it new challenges, unlockable outfits, as well as a brand new way to interact with your fellow players.

First things first, the update has added the Reflection of Strength, which allows you to use any of the Sculptor’s Idols to rematch defeated bosses. Besides the sheer pleasure of stomping over bosses that previously gave you trouble, the Reflection of Strength is going to be extremely helpful for those attempting to beat the second newly added challenge - the Gauntlet of Strength.

[Update]: Steam's massive Autumn sale has now arrived alongside The Steam Awards nominations.

If you're in the mood for some spooky games, or at least ones that deal with somewhat mature themes, today is your lucky day as Steam's Halloween 2020 sale has just begun! While there is unfortunately no fun little mini-game to participate in like some of the previous sales, the sheer amount of discounted games make the whole thing well worth checking out regardless.

The only catch is that the sale will be short-lived. In order words, you only have until 10am PST on November 2nd to pick up whatever games tickle your fancy, as that is when the Halloween 2020 sale will be floating away to realms unknown.
