Vermintide 2 screenshot of Kerillian as a Sister of the Thorn

[Update #2]: Vermintide 2's December DLC has added the Warrior Priest career alongside a bunch of weapons.

[Update]: Vermintide 2 Halloween update has beefed up bosses and added new cosmetics to hunt.

Now that the highly entertaining Grail Knight and Outcast Engineer careers have finally settled in, it's Kerillian's time to get some new toys to play around with. Much like its predecessors, the freshly added Sister of the Thorn career takes things in a completely different direction by giving Kerillian access to both offensive and supportive magic!

What this means in gameplay terms is that the Sister of the Thorn brings with it a unique talent tree, a variety of passive and active abilities, plenty of new voice lines, as well as two new 'ranged' weapons - the Briar Javelin and the Deepwood Staff. You can get a little sneak peek at what they look like through the recently posted trailer. Have a gander:

[Update #2]: After a dominating performance, MTG Arena is now banning Time Warp!

[Update]: MTG Arena has brought back the highly popular Jumpstart and Cube formats for June 2021.

Only a short bit of time has gone by since the Strixhaven set launched, and already MTG Arena has added a bunch of exciting new cards to play around with. The freshly unearthed Historic Anthology 5 brings with it the always popular Phyrexian Preators, commands from Dragons of Tarkir, as well as some much needed disruption in the form of Stifle and Relic of Progenitus. You can find the full list of cards over at the MTG website.

Needless to say, the theme this time around is mostly focused on graveyard shenanigans. Sure, you could play a fair game of Magic and simply cast the highly expensive Preators as a late-game finisher, or you could do the much more fun strategy of reanimating them from your graveyard and making your opponent explode before turn 5! But what you do, be prepared to deal with graveyard-hating cards like Relic of Progenitus as they are currently all over the Historic ladder!

[Update #2]: Overwatch 2 will be showing off the Sombra and Bastion reworks on September 25, 2021.

[Update]: Overwatch will soon be adding cross-play between PC and consoles.

Throughout all of Overwatch Blizzard has struggled with not only balancing tanks, but also incentivizing players to actually pick them. Even after multiple reworks and changes to the very core of the game itself, tanks still remain highly unpopular. And to make matters worse, you can't have matches without two tanks, which means that the queue times are constantly increasing despite Blizzard's best efforts.

With all of that in mind, it should come as little surprise to hear that Blizzard has opted to go with the nuclear option for Overwatch 2. As announced in the recent developer steam, Overwatch 2 will be dropping one tank per team and making the matches a 5v5 affair.

[Update #2]: The team is adding fresh and greatly enhanced World of Warcraft: Classic servers on October 5, 2021!

[Update]: Blizzard are looking to introduce same-faction battlegrounds to help with Burning Crusade Classic's PvP population imbalance.

Only two weeks have gone by since the pre-expansion patch arrived, and already Blizzard is preparing to flick the switch and unleash the full version of Burning Crusade Classic. Best of all, unlike the original launch many years ago, Burning Crusade Classic will be releasing worldwide at the same time - 3pm PDT on June 1st / 12am CEST on June 2nd / 8am AEST on June 2nd!

You can expect to see a brand 'new' world to explore, plenty of dungeons and raids to delve into, a variety of reputations to farm in order to gain some rather powerful rewards and fancy cosmetics, the very first flying mounts to unlock, and perhaps most importantly for the competitively inclined among you, the organized Arena PvP mode to sink insane amount of hours into. Should be pretty fun!

Following in the footsteps of Horizon Zero Dawn, the previously PlayStation 4 exclusive survival-horror Days Gone has now made its way to PC. Perhaps most importantly, Days Gone has done so without the numerous technical problems that plagued the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn for months and months!

When it comes to the gameplay and visuals, however, you can get a pretty good idea of what Days Gone has to offer through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a little peek:

Europa Universalis IV artwork for the Leviathan expansion

To put it quite bluntly, Europa Universalis IV's Leviathan is probably the worst expansion Paradox has ever released. Not only are the gameplay elements half-baked, but the whole thing is so riddled with technical problems that even playing it can be a massive struggle.

Thankfully, Paradox has recently responded to these complaints and vowed to continue working on Leviathan (and Europa Universalis IV in general) until all of the major bugs have been squared away. As a part of this effort Paradox has now released Update 1.31.3, and while it doesn't fix all of Leviathan's problems, it's definitely a step in the right direction.

Mass Effect artwork for the Legendary Edition

If you were itching to give the Mass Effect series another playthrough, or perhaps dive in for the very first time, you'll be happy to hear that the new and improved Mass Effect Legendary Edition has now been unleashed. It brings with it remastered versions of all three games, all of the various pieces of DLC, as well as plenty of gameplay improvements and quality of life changes.

Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the recently posted comparison trailer. It should give you a pretty good idea of just what has changed and how much better the Legendary Edition looks. Have a gander:

[Update #2]: Overwatch will be adding Ashe’s Deadlock Challenge on June 22, 2021.

[Update]: Overwatch's June 2021 update has brought in small but noticable nerfs to McCree, Zarya, Baptiste and Echo.

If there is anything you've missed from the previous Overwatch events, be that a cosmetic or limited-time game mode, you might be pleased to hear that the Anniversary 2021 update is nearly upon us. Once it launches later today (May 18) it'll bring with it an assortment of new cosmetics and dances, as well as all of the various skins, voice lines, animations and game modes from all of the previous events!

While there is still no proper trailer, Blizzard has at least revealed a couple of the new hero skins. Sombra will be dressing up like Catwoman, Moira will be going back to nature, while Baptiste is looking to light up the dance floor with a funky new look!

[Update]: Historic Anthology 5 has now arrived, bringing with it a bunch of exciting graveyard shenanigans!

The Historic meta has barely settled from the influx of Mystical Archives cards, and already MTG Arena is preparing to add a brand new batch of fan-favorite cards! Historic Anthology 5 will be launching onto MTG Arena this May 27, and once it does it'll bring with it 25 entirely new-to-Historic cards.

These include the always popular Phyrexian Preators, Commands from Dragons of Tarkir, classic annoyances like Stifle and Relic of Progenitus, as well as a bunch of other fun stuff. You can find the full list of cards over at the MTG website.

Total War: Warhammer 3 official artwork without logo

[Update]: Total War: Warhammer 3's release date has been pushed back to early 2022.

While its release date has not been set just yet, you can expect Total War: Warhammer 3 to arrive at some point this year. It'll bring with it four playable factions (Kislev, Cathay, Khorne and likely Tzeentch), a massive new map to conquer, a rework of siege battles, as well as a whole bunch of other additions and improvements.

If you're curious what some of these additions might look like, as well as what the Khorne and Kislev rosters will be made out of, you'll be happy to hear that Creative Assembly has now released the very first gameplay preview! You can check it out right below, along with the new in-game cinematic trailer. Have a peek:
