The guys behind Star Citizen have been on a roll lately. Last week they released their alpha 2.0 version with multi-crew ships, FPS combat and spacewalking, then a little while later they passed an absurd 100 million dollars in crowd funding and now they're already showcasing progress on procedurally generated planets.
The video (embedded below) is titled "From Pupil to Planet" and sufficed to say, it looks really damn impressive.

Christmas really is a time of miracles because for the first time in forever two silent giants, Valve and Blizzard have begun actively speaking with their communities. Valve through their CS:GO team and Blizzard through their developer updates on Overwatch.
In the most recent episode Jeff Kaplan, game director for Overwatch, detailed what their thoughts on the progression system are and what can you expect in the future. He also mentioned a potential date for the next closed beta test but more on that later.

I never actually had a chance to play Turok, the classic dinosaur-hating FPS that first released in 1997. This was in the dark age of gaming where you depended on physical copies and for some reason the only local store has exactly 5 copies that sold out instantly...
Now with the remaster releasing this Thursday, 17th of December to be specific, it would appear I'll finally have a chance to see what all the fuss is about. Here's a list of the improvements the remastered edition is bringing to the table:

I was so very, very excited when I first saw Just Cause 3 gameplay but once I finally got my hands on the game I found it to be practically unplayable in-between random FPS drops and frequent crashes.
So I'm happy to tell you that Patch 1.2 is now out on Steam bringing with it performance improvements, faster loading times and some bug fixes. Here's the full patch notes post:

It certainly wasn't easy being a Warhammer 40k fan the past few years, with the tabletop game being far beyond my budget and almost every PC game being of lackluster quality after THQ's bankruptcy. Thankfully it seems at least the second part is changing as there have already been some good Warhammer games in 2015 and there are even more coming in 2016.
And now I can add Battlefleet Gothic: Armada to the list of games I'm excited about because the ships presented in the trailer (embedded below) are perfect representations of the grand cathedral-ships of the Imperium. Here's the trailer and a short overview of what you can expect with Battlefleet Gothic.
CS:GO Winter Update Changes Are Being Rolled Back

Thank goodness. I feel like I've talked about this topic to death but ever since the CS:GO Winter Update the game's balance took a heavy shift downward. In a single patch they nerfed rifles by making them more random while adding a completely non-random one-hit kill revolver. How any of that actually got through testing is still beyond me.
Now, a few days later Valve has realized that their patch isn't having the impact they wanted so they are rolling back the rifle change and pistol changes to where they were before hand. Here's what Valve had to say about the whole ordeal:
