The guys behind Prison Architect are just awesome. Not only did they create a great game but they've done so while being almost fully transparent and constantly in touch with their community. Its also one of the very few games that did Steam Early Access right by adding frequent updates and changes based on community feedback.
Prison Architect has since then left Early Access but the updates have kept on rolling. With the recently released Update 2 Prison Architect now has female inmates, babies, an improved moding API and a whole bunch of new stuff.
Here's a video from the developers Mark Morris and Chris Delay where they showcase how a standard female prison will work in Prison Architect.

Blood Bowl 2 is an adaptation of the classic Games Workshop boardgame that mashes up the world of Warhammer with American football in to an orgy of violence and humor. There is also something related to a sport in there somewhere.
While the two previous added races were released as paid DLC the four upcoming new ones will be completely free for anyone that owns the game during their release. A pretty good deal if you're already a fan of Blood Bowl 2.

There have been a lot of games that featured swordplay and melee combat in the recent years and despite some of them (most notable the Souls series) getting the spirit of the melee fighting correctly, very few have actually attempted to give the player full control over their swings and parries.
And it is that exact combat system that Mordhau, an indie first-person fighting game set in the medieval times, is trying to accomplish. Here's a quick developer walkthrough on what exactly Mordhau is:
Homeworld: Deserts Of Kharak Is Coming This January

For those of you that don't know, Homeworld and its sequel are some of the best RTS games out there, combining great gameplay, compelling storytelling and a kick-ass musical score. While the original games are a decade old this point they did get remastered earlier this year so if you haven't played Homeworld but consider yourself an RTS fan I'd heartily recommend the Homeworld Remastered Collection.
Once you're finally finished with them you'll be just on time for the release of the upcoming Homeworld prequel titled "Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak", coming this January 20.
17 Minutes Of New Firewatch Gameplay With Developer Commentary

Don't worry, this isn't the other arbitrarily 17 minute long gameplay video released a few months back. Instead, this video is a continuation of the old one and showcases events that unfold on day 2 in Firewatch, but don't worry, the developers were sneaky enough to remove anything that might spoil you the story.
In the video (embeded below) two Firewatch developers will guide you through the world and events that happen as well as how your choices could influence them to resolve differently. I have a few things I'd like to mention but in order to not spoil you on anything I'd suggest you watch the video first before continuing.
