Dark Souls 3 will be 60 FPS on the PC

Rumors are like wildfire, all it takes is one spark amidst dry grass and suddenly you have an inferno on your hands. Such was the case with the recent Dark Souls 3 rumor that claimed the much anticipated Dark Souls finale would not support 60 FPS on PC, despite this being among the first details revealed a while ago.

Rather than allow panic to spread further, the Dark Souls Twitter team came out today and officially announced that the game will indeed support 60 FPS on PC. Here's the short message:

After a long delay Diablo 2 has finally received a new patch

Its been a couple of years since I've last played Diablo 2 (mostly due to Path of Exile hijacking my attention) , but I'm sure many will agree that its a game with very few issues to speak of.

But it seems that simply having very few issues isn't good enough for Blizzard as they have just announced the release of Update 1.14a for Diablo 2 which brings with it compatibility improvements and bug fixes. Here's the full list:

Ashes Of The Singularity is officially being released on March 31st

One of the most exciting features of Stardock's upcoming RTS, Ashes of the Singularity, are the battles which can span the entire globe and involve thousands of units at the same time, a feat that hasn't been attempted before. Add to that a smart AI opponent that doesn't need to resort to cheating, and you've got yourself the makings of a potentially spectacular strategy game.

After going through a well received Early Access phase, Ashes of the Singularity will be officially releasing on March 31st. Here's the launch trailer, courtesy of PC Gamer's Youtube channel:

EVE Online allows you to help out real science through Project Discovery

Its not often that you get to say you've done something of real world significance by lazing around on the couch and playing an MMO, but that's exactly what EVE Online's Project Discovery allows you to do.

Project Discovery, in coordination with the Human Protein Atlas organization, is attempting to crowdsource the simple, but overwhelmingly numerous task of locating and identifying protein patterns in human cells. Here's a short video that explains both the concept and how exactly the whole thing works in the EVE universe:

Doom multiplayer trailer & beta information released

If you count yourself among those that pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order, I'd recommend you whip out your calendar as Bethesda has just announced that the Doom multiplayer beta will be available from 10pm ET, March 31stil till 11:59pm ET, April 3rd.

For the rest of us that have no chance of getting in to the closed beta Bethesda has released a multiplayer trailer showcasing demonic transformations, quad damage and plenty of giblets. Here's the trailer, beta system requirements and a bit more information:

Day Of The Tentacle: Remastered is coming March 22nd

Day of the Tentacle is the sequel to Maniac Mansion (which you can actually play within DotT) and one of the funniest point & click adventures I've had the pleasure to stumble puzzle through.

After initially being announced a few months back it seems that Day of the Tentacle is finally ready to hit the virtual store shelves on March 22nd. Here's the trailer and a bit more info:

Golden Joystick is giving away Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition

Dark Souls 1 might genuinely be my favorite game ever made. Its not perfect, and it is a bit cruel to new players, but if you can get past its one of the most compelling and complex action RPGs ever made, with enough depth to its combat to keep you coming back for more every few months.

Which is why I'm delighted to tell you that the Golden Joystick Store is currently offering Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for free to EU/UK residents. Here's how to grab it:

[Update]: Mere minutes after posting this, the promotion has ended. I'll leave the article up just in case Golden Joystick decides to restart it during the next couple of days.

Total War: Warhammer release date & system requirements released

If after watching the recent battle showcase you thought that Total War: Warhammer was a bit rough around the edges, and that it might not have enough time to iron out all the kinks by April, I have some excellent news for you.

According to a press release sent out today, Total War: Warhammer is being delayed until May 24th in order to ensure that the classic Total War launch disaster doesn't strike once again. Here's the short message announcing the delay and a detailed list of the PC system requirements:

Hearthstone is adding deck recipes to help new players

One of the main issues that plagues new Hearthstone players is the inability to create competitive decks (or even remotely playable ones), a fact that becomes even more problematic when you realize how utterly terrible the current in-game suggestion tool is.

After many, many months of waiting Blizzard has finally announced Deck Recipes as an answer to the age old Hearthstone problem. Here's a brief overview of what exactly Deck Recipes will entail:

Prison Architect hidden 3 Mode

Many games out there have hidden levels, or small little Easter eggs put in to reward the most dedicated of players, but how many can claim they have an entire dimension secluded away?

As it turns out, Prison Architect belongs in this very exclusive and completely made up club because a Youtuber by the name of TheLogical Lowdown has managed to find a hidden 3D mode in the popular prison management sim. Have a look:
