While the Steam Machines have ended up mostly forgotten by the general public the controllers designed for them seem to still be going strong. So strong in fact that Valve have recently announced a brand new milestone for the Steam Controller, one that proudly displays over half a million devices sold.
In order to celebrate this momentous achievement Valve have released a brand new update for the Steam Controller that brings with it support for rumble features, VR compatibility (including the ability to use it for motion controls, or as a steering wheel), as well as numerous quality of life changes.

The Dark Brotherhood has become one of the most popular elements of The Elder Scrolls series, not because of their zealous devotion to a corpse or their often "hearth-wrenching" story, but rather because they allow us to fulfill the childhood dream of being an unstoppable "fixer" working behind the scenes in order to make the world a... hopefully better place?
It is exactly that sort of theme the Dark Brotherhood DLC for the Elder Scrolls Online has decided to tackle, but unfortunately the announcement trailer that was supposed to showcase all of that was made by someone that is far too interested in stabbing people in the back, with the end result being a video containing a full minute of people getting shanked, and nothing else! Have a look, its quite something:

Life is Strange is a time-bending adventure game in the vein of the modern Telltale series, by which I mean it mostly focuses on engaging storytelling, simple gameplay, and plentiful choices with long-lasting consequences.
It was by all accounts a rather enjoyable game, so the recent announcement of a Mac version came as no surprise, though many questions were raised about the oddly missing Linux port. As it turns out, the Mac version was simply further ahead in development so Feral Interactive decided to focus all of their efforts on it first, but rest assured as the Linux version is coming as well.
This was all confirmed by Ellie_Feral in a short comment over at Gamingonlinux:

One of the biggest annoyances for anyone that likes to shop around is the decentralized library of games that can sometimes be locked away behind a dozen accounts, each one hosting only a small portion of the games, yet completely sealed away from all the others.
While GOG's Connect service doesn't offer a final solution to this whole mess, it is a rather nice gesture as it allows you to link your Steam and GOG accounts together in order to import a variety of games from your Steam library into your GOG one. Here's a list of the currently eligible games:

As I mentioned in my review, McCree is by far the most powerful character in all of Overwatch given that he is useful in almost every situation, but also utterly devastating to anyone that dares do such heinous acts like entering the same room as him.
Thankfully, it appears that the Overwatch developers have spotted the same issue as they have recently went on record saying that they would be bringing changes to the gun-slinger himself, but also D.VA who currently resides in that awkward middle-ground between a tank and a speedy assassin.
Here's what Geoff Goodman from the Overwatch team had to say about McCree:

Nox is an action RPG developed by Westwood and released all the way back in 2000. It was a fairly good game, and it maintains a small but loyal cult following to this very day, though chances are you've never even heard of it because Diablo 2 took the world by storm, and with it all of the spotlight.
If you're up for experiencing some ARPG history Nox is currently available for free on Origin as a part of their "On the House" program. Here's one of the few trailers I could find on Youtube, though bear in mind the graphical quality back in the day was... not very good:

Lionhead Studios have been completely disbanded back in March after Fable Legends failed to produce any amount of enthusiasm from the gaming public, or even Microsoft itself, but thankfully it appears that the Fable franchise might not be dead just yet.
While it certainly isn't the mainline game many have been expecting, a couple of ex-Lionhead developers have managed to secure rights from Microsoft in order to bring their vision of a Fable themed collectible card game to life. Fable Fortune is its name, and the team is currently looking for £250,000 on Kickstarter in order to fully fund its development, though the end product will be completely free-to-play.
If you're wondering what the early prototype looks like in action, here's a brief trailer:

[Update #2]: Nearly a decade after its original announcement, Dead Island 2 has now finally been unleashed.
[Update]: Dead Island 2 is not only alive, but it's also finally launching on February 3rd, 2023 for PC and consoles!
Dead Island 2 has not had the best of luck. Ever since it was announced there were rumors of troubled development, and then in 2015 there was a "significant delay" which resulted in Deep Silver cutting ties with Yager Development (the folks behind Spec Ops: The Line). A glimmer of hope appeared soon after as rumors started circulating that Techland (the folks behind the original Dead Island) wanted another crack at it, but that unfortunately didn't turn out to be true. Finally, Deep Silver entrusted the project to Sumo Digital (whom you might know from Little Big Planet 3) earlier this year, but ever since then we have heard almost nothing of Dead Island 2.
If you thought that story was too complex and overly convoluted you're in for another treat as DeathSparks over on Neogaf noticed that the Dead Island 2 entry in the Steam Database had been completely removed, a notion that very rarely leads to good news.

[Update]: It took a while for us to get here, but Payday 3 will be launching in 2023 for PC and consoles!
Payday 2 developers caused a massive uproar within the community when they decided to not only implement microtransactions despite promising not to, but implement them in such a way that almost no one walked away happy. The issue was somewhat resolved over the coming weeks, but the community's undying trust in Overkill was all but lost despite taking years to build up.
Things have taken a massive upturn today, however, as Overkill's parent company Starbreeze Studios just announced that they have acquired the full rights to the Payday franchise from its publisher 505 games, and that as their first official move they are completely abolishing all traces of microtransactions. No more damnable drills!
Along with this announcement came a Youtube video from Payday 2's producer Amir Listo during which he discussed Payday's history, its current state, and what awaits in the future:

War for the Overworld is a shameless spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper, and even though it started off as a buggy mess the developers have managed to improve it to the point where you might as well consider it the unofficial Dungeon Keeper 3.
Speaking of improvements, War for the Overworld has just become enriched with a brand new expansion, Heart of Gold, and a comprehensive patch that brings forth a better tutorial system, combat rebalance, improved performance, and greatly enhanced enemy AI. Here's the completely cheesy trailer to give you an idea of what to expect:
