[Update]: Payday 3 has now arrived alongside a surprising amount of server problems.

After a few years of subtle and not-so-subtle teasers, Starbreeze Studios have now finally started talking about Payday 3 again! Much like its predecessor, Payday 3 is going to be a fast-paced, co-op focused shooter that rewards both stealth and overwhelming violence in equal measure.

The story, if you even care about such things in a Payday game, will take place a couple of years after the original crew's rampage in Washington DC. Due to some sort of mysterious threat rearing its ugly head the crew is going to be forced to cancel their early retirements and once again don their iconic masks. I'd love to tell you more, but that's pretty much everything Starbreeze has revealed so far.

Similarly, the exact details behind all of the gameplay improvements and additions are currently nonexistent. The only thing I can tell you for certain is that Payday 3 will be launching onto PC and consoles in 2023, and that Steam will be a major focus for Starbreeze. Once more information becomes available, I'll make sure to let you know.

For now, however, it's well worth mentioning that Payday 2 is on a massive sale on Steam which has brought the price down to 1€! So if you're in the mood for a bit of co-op carnage, I'd highly recommend taking Starbreeze up on their offer before the sale goes away on January 5th.

Have fun, and I'll leave you with the very brief teaser trailer for Payday 3:
